Who owns the oldest Rolex on the forum?
I'm fortunate to own a 1968 5513 Submariner, I just got wondering (after reading the following) who own's the oldest Rolex on the forum
feel free to show and tell all about your vintage Rolex. The earliest watches from Wilsdorf and Davis were usually hallmarked "W&D" inside the caseback. In 1908, Wilsdorf registered the trademark "Rolex", which became the brand name of watches from Wilsdorf and Davis, and opened an office in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

Yeah, someone sure has a Rolex pocket watch from the 20s that is worth gold weight plus a few dozen dollars for the movement.

interesting thread, i always shy away from the older watches even though i love the way some look because of the case dimensions , 30mm is just way too small for me.

I’d love to own a 1956 Day Date. Were those #6611 back then preceding the 1803?

Pretty sure a guy from Quebec sold one of those on eBay and listed it here too about a year ago, I lost the auction

Mine's closer to being the newest, but I do like seeing these photos of the old watches.
Like was said earlier, I shy away from vintage watches due to their fragility and expense to repair, but they have coolness off the charts.

The pictures of the 1932 half hunter are beautiful, I have a full hunter made by Henry Bolton. Liverpool from the 1800's so nice to see these, keep them coming.

I’m not near the oldest, but I have my Dad’s 2764 bubble back from 1947. Still occasionally worn.

I bought it from a friend who had inherited it from his family, the clock had always been in his family. I am impressed by the movement of the watch, it has a very good operating accuracy.

Not too sure. I once traced the import mark to the 20's. I am not confident in my research.
