Get the white then.

Buy what you like. Don't settle for blue.

I have never owned a white dial timepiece until my 5711. I absolutely love it and the legibility is and look are perfect.

I have both. Gun to my head I’d keep the blue. But I love them both, great watch.

I'd go blue as it reflects light nicer and you get a better diversity of tones. The white is also nice but can be quite flat.

So far it approximately looks like 15 for blue and 12 for white (some left a little room for interpretation). Even so, it’s kind of surprising to see so many favoring white on what is perhaps the most iconic of the blue-dialed watches.

I have the white one, but only because I couldn’t get the blue. Having said that, I’m super happy with it and have never caught myself saying, “Gee, I like my white dial, but I sure wish I had the blue!”

I think someone already mentioned this, but the dial could be a metallic gray, or it can be white, depending on the angle and lighting. The contrast between the dial and the black markers is stunning.

Either way, you can’t go wrong. The blue is iconic, but the white, having not been in production nearly as long, is not as widely seen.

I just got my white 5711 this week and am blown away. Love the silvery white/grey dial. I don’t think you can go wrong with either but the blue is a little overrated IMO.

But this is going to be my one and only Nautilus, so maybe I’m making a mistake not going with the blue.

Grey market price difference is not a factor since I’ll be paying MSRP. For those who own the white dial version — how has it stood the test of time in your collection? Any regrets about not getting the more iconic blue dial? If you could go back and choose again, would you still choose white over blue? Any blue owners who now have a preference for white?
I like the white better.

A funny one, I think the white is a better white than the blue is a blue, but I'd probably take the blue if a first Nautilus.

Personally i would go white dial, as the blue isn't really blue, more greyish

and another thing it wears quite tinny if that makes sense

I went and tried on both today. I really wanted to prefer the blue. The blue 5711 is an icon. It even carries a higher value in the grey market. I love blue-dialed watches. I have a Daytona 116509 and an FPJ CB as well as a few other blues. But after comparing the two dials side by side I’ve concluded the white is my preference. It’ll be my first white dialed watch. So now the waiting begins...

Thank you all for chiming in with your personal preferences and advice!

Now that the waiting has begun, any idea how long the waiting is expected to be? Was the wait for the blue the same as the wait for the white?
Just curious because when I ordered an Aquanaut two years ago the wait for the 5167a was two years but for the 5167/1a was only one year. Guess which I ordered?

Good choice. The White is the best 5711 currently available. Its the one that gets most of my wrist time!
