There is a retaining spring that holds it in place, normally you need to compress it halfway to remove it. No idea how it got loose without doing that. If you put it back in it will probably click back in but you probably want to make sure it wont come out again. Send it to rsc

This happened with a Tudor Sub that I once owned, a few months after buying it brand new.
Pushed the crown back in, it then worked perfectly for a coupla more years, then I sold it. |

Update - dropped it off at RSC NY and they will be doing a full service. Sounds like 4+ weeks hopefully sooner!
