No pictures at AD?
Was at the mall today and popped into the local AD. They had an entire case completely empty of watches. Laughing at the irony of a store with around 30 customers in it and a completely empty case, I went to take a photo.
A sales rep who'd been watching me like a hawk quickly pounced and barked "no photos". I retorted, "not much to photograph here", making reference to the empty case and he just sort of nodded. Has anyone else experienced this?? Having bought a few watches from this AD and having had no problem taking photos before, I was taken aback. Guy didn't offer to assist us at all, just barking commands. I left immediately after - poor customer service IMO regardless of their "policy". |

I could see it but have never tested the waters, if I do take a photo its usually the displays they have outside for folks who walk by

Sorry to hear that. What happened to customer service? Complain to Rolex. Maybe they will fill the case while they are at it...

I would have still taken them. What are they going to do, call the photo police?

That's been my experience as well.

These guys used to have every SS sports model aside from the Daytona and just about every PM model including the SARU and crazy PM/gemstone watches. Very slim picking these days, mostly DD and DJ. |

Agreed, but what if I was taking a picture of a watch I was considering buying? Would you buy from a guy barking orders at you? If you really don't want me taking pictures, introduce yourself and ask if you can help and then mention that as an aside. Otherwise, they risk scaring off a customer willing to spend $$$$.

I really don’t get the fascination with taking pics at AD’s. It would make me feel like a moron to be doing it. They know the only reason someone would take pics is to share it on social media

What isn't there to get? If there's a watch you like that you're considering buying or would like to see in person and try on, you go to the AD and can take pics.

I was told by my AD that the buildout was mandatory down to the signage and stools. I looked and the stools are actually made in Italy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Silly policy, although it would be embarrassing to be a Rolex AD with zero Rolex watches.

Agree. I’m pretty certain it is as well. My AD did it years ago - it’s the individual ADs ‘investment’ in the Rolex branding - and I know its not cheap!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had an AD tell me I couldn't pull out a piece of paper and write down model #'s and prices. I never went back and they are now closed.

They are a retail salesman with the same clout as the McDonalds employee asking you not to take a pic. You could have been really ignorant and said...”Well since you don’t have any watches to sell, maybe you can sell pretzels at the food court, I hear they got lots of those and are hiring.”

I am one of those people whom enjoy a good civilized argument. Saying I would have asked to see where this is posted for me to know such policy. If not visibly posted then would ask to see the printed policy and then would as to speak to manager. In the end as it is private property they can say and do whatever they want in their store...

One angle not mentioned is security. Documenting, through photos, the layout of the store could be a security issue, and therefore against their policy.
You just want to make fun of the situation. Next person might be doing it to plan a smash and grab (when the store's one allotted DJ comes in). |

As in completely empty? Not even 2 tones are displayed? That's not my experience. I have never seen a Rolex AD with no watches including 2 tones.
