Three became one

I became interested in watches not too long ago and slowly built my small, modest collecion. My wife gave me a Tag aquaracer when my daughter was born in 2011. I added a JLC Grand Reverso UltraThin in 2014 and a Bell & Ross Heritage a few months later. In 2017, I purchased two Rolexes, a blue dial DJ2 and ceramic Daytona.

I absolutely love the fit of the Daytona that my DJ2 started to see a significant dip in wrist time. I haven't really worn the JLC or Bell&Ross in the last two years, and always felt guilty just keepng them around. I've been infatuated with the 16710 as of late, and I couldn't get it off my mind.

After getting the green light from my wife, I traded my JLC, DJ2, and Bell&Ross (plus some cash) for the 16710, and I couldn't be happier!

Consolidation is sometimes for the best.

While variety is nice, there are only so many days a week and I would find myself letting certain pieces go weeks without wear.

I just consolidated myself and will be posting when it arrives.

Congrats on the beautiful 5 digit.

That is a great move IMO. The 16710 is a great watch. With your Daytona and tag you are set. What colour is the Daytona?

How did you manage to purchase a ceramic Daytona? Grey, or though an AD?

Congrats on the new one!

TBH, I got pretty lucky. I live in a small town with a Rolex AD and visited the store several times before buying the DJ2. Shortly thereafter, I told him I wanted the Daytona, and he said that I'd be next on the "list."

The 16710 is my favorite Rolex. The versatility and 6 in 1 options with the jubilee is amazing. Congrats and wear that beauty in good health!

Good move! Less is more. I like the Reverso and the DJ is a good sporty dress watch, but the Pepsi is cooler.

Last year, I traded 3 JLCs for a Patek Calatrava. No regrets.
