Well puts me out.

Without that qualifying statement, I would probably lean toward one of the Daytona's, although just picking which color dial would be a hurdle. (Kinda like the EXP2, lol)

I made that choice, Pepsi. I just traded my Daytona C for a platinum DD 36.

DaytonaC white dial if I could only have one. Mainly because I really love the contrast of the white dial against the black bezel. If it was the stainless steel version of the Daytona I would go for the black dial version for pretty much the same reason.

I’ve personally never liked the BLNR. Turned it down twice years ago and went with LN. No regrets.

Daytona isn’t for me. A hugely overhyped watch and although I have chrono’s in my collection, they’re all variants of the Speedmaster Pro which I think is the better watch all day long if chrono’s are your bag.

And how is Speedmaster pro better then Daytona?
Enlighten us please

Daytona C black dial.

Sure, it isn't as bling as the white (and hyped) Daytona nor as colourful as a Pepsi or Batman. However, the black dial is just pure class for all situations. Casual, work suit or even black tie, it would not look out of place. So for me that is the winner as it does it all.

Pepsi on oyster.

I’m not a fan of SS Daytonas but I do love the oysterflex variants.

Ha!

And true story, though I’m over the “moon” about as much as I am over the non-existent provenance of the Daytona. Just buy what you like. Until the Daytona hits 41mm though I think I’d have to stick with an SMP myself.

I have a BLNR on oyster and a white DaytonaC. BLNR easily gets more wrist time than the DaytonaC. I would choose the BLNR all day everyday if I could only have one. While the DaytonaC is an exceptional watch, the BLNR is more functional for me and I like the way it looks better anyway.

Well, for one you can actually tell time with a Speedmaster. And it’s one of the most significant watches in history. The Daytona is illegible and a piece of jewelry only famous for being worn by make-believe people.

Would have to be the black dial Daytona 116500. It is so comfortable and the black bezel looks so nice with the black dial.

As I said, ‘I think’ and that’s for a multitude of reasons.

The Daytona cannot hope to come close to the historical achievements of what Speedmaster has accomplished. One of the reasons I own the watches I do is because I appreciate their lineage and history of the reference.

For me, and many others, the Daytona wears too small.

Now I’m not going to bash the Daytona because for many it’s the perfect watch and I appreciate that. It’s just not for me.

Another way to answer this is to ask how is the Daytona better than the Speedmaster?

Daytona vs. GMT

Can’t decide for one… but could never give away the white Daytona.

Did you really flex that hard on a 1.5 year old thread?

Awesome collection.
