Patek 5196R lovingmthismwacth.. when do I wear it....

I really enjoy this piece. I got this , preowned, a few months ago. I’m struggling finding WHEN or WHERE to wear this.

When do you all wear this watch.. or where.

I’ve been wearing this with jeans, nice shirt. In extremely casual environments. No one but me recognizes this piece, either.

I don’t have to dress up for work. I work from home mostly anyway. I feel somewhat strange wearing this with jeans, in casual environments. I also of course wear this when dressed nicely, but I’ve minimal occasion of any formality... it’s funny I find myself wearing collared shirts with jeans so i can wear the Patek.. I guess I need psychiatric care.

My question: when and where do you wear the 5196, or similar pieces. I’m finding this piece far more versatile than my two tone submariner.. it’s awkward, though, because if other Patek owners saw me wearing this piece with jeans , etc, they’d start a brawl. So I’m just wondering when you all buy a Patek callatrava.. do you save it for, formal events. Or just wear it as often as possible. I love its legibility, class, subdued nature, and craftsmanship.

It's a watch... you wear it whenever and with whatever you want – that's as complicated as it gets.

Absolutely, there are no rules but those you create for yourself. Post some pics of it casually and we'll tell you how it looks, sire it will be fine. I recently wore my Aquanaut on rubber with cufflinks to a very nice restaurant, it felt great.

If you want people to recognizes or get notice that you wearing a Patek Philippe get a Patek Philippe Calatrava deployant clasp should do a trick......

Wear it anywhere with anything. If you like the look it becomes universal. I would not wear it doing heavy physical work or active sports.

I am a suit and tie guy, so I wear mine when dressed for the office or formal events. However, there is no rule that you can't wear a 5196 casually. I keep my 5167 for more casual events.

I wear mine business or economy! Hence, I enjoy (and more typically) wearing it in dressier situations, but I love how, on a brown strap, it's elegant yet casual. I also love how much dimension there is to such a simple dial!

Well, I’m finding the 5196a versatile piece. One I love. I really like this watch. It’s legicle, plain, well crafted, large in size... tasteful, timeless... I’ve been wearing this piece more and more casually, along with weddings as well. I can’t say enoug positive things about this 5196 in rose .. really remarkable.

I wear mine every chance I get. I have a few different straps which helps when dressing it up or down

I own a similar piece (Lange Saxonia Thin) and I wear it mostly when I’m in a suit.

Weddings and funerals...

With shorts and a T shirt!!! Lol. Dude I wear my dress watches with anything. I wear them to Burger King seriously. Lots of famous people are spotted wearing their dress Pateks in casual. I'm not famous but I do this same. With its leather strap it will look good.

I’m wearing this watch tonight to a dinner. I really absolutely adore this piece. It’s so elegant, understated... and so legible. I’m proud to wear this piece whenever I do wear it. I’ve found pairing this watch with jeans and matching (to strap) belt suits me best. It’s so elegant it’s casual at the same time.
