Diamonds usually don't compliment a design and they overpower it. Not in this case.

I agree.

These guys have actually tried/own the watch and know. I completely agree seeing the watch IRL and one I'm finishing a deal on now to acquire.

I'm thinking this is some sort of mistake/misunderstanding. If not, I'll take 2-3 of them OP from your "dealer."

i absolutely love the 5170p and bought one new from my AD. $55-$60k seems off, i cant imagine thats possible, but you should definitely jump all over it if thats the case. its such a beautiful watch, and a brown strap changes up the look completely.

No brainer at US$55-60k if truly available BNIB. I'd buy one in a heartbeat at that number.

That would be for a 5170G. I would consider buying one today for 65 let alone 55 lol

hate to say this, but guys you aren't being realistic if you think 5170Gs are trading in the mid 50s (they are lower)... the stated price is for a 5170P I believe.

I don't think so....if DavidSW is selling this:

https://davidsw.com/product/patek-ph...-diamond-dial/

He usually has a good sense for the market.....not saying that's not negotiable but all the way down to 55-60k? I don't think so.

DSW, was selling a 2017 5170G, asking "only" $48.6k (says list of $87k) in December.

Almost too good(?). Did it fall off the back of a truck?

OP, who are the greys? If you don’t feel like posting to the world, would you PM those interested? I certainly am.

The cheapest piece on Chrono24 is $83k - where would a price of $60k come from as an asking price? Makes no sense.

May I ask what didn’t feel right - seems like the bargain of the century although I can see the originating AD getting some serious grief from PP if/when they find out.

1-In a weird way I got insulted for the 5170P that it was trading at such a discount..

2- I'm scarred from purchasing a white gold daytona longgggg ago. "A good deal" that I would get stuck with if I got bored of the watch. It would be my first non sport watch and smallest mm watch I'd own.

3-I don't believe in Chrono24's prices. I recently purchased an RM. Chrono24 selling for $25K+ MINIMUM above the retail (Which I paid). Few weeks later I asked my friend If I can really sell it above what I paid for it if I ever want to get rid of it. He took me to a few RM grey dealers that offered there's at retail just to get rid of it. So I don't believe in Chrono24. I also had a friend who purchased 2 Pateks from over seas through Chrono worth 70k. He got a fake gucci bag and a tv bracket in the box LOL...Chrono24 reimbursed him 42k of it back.

Overall it seems like the piece wasn't received as well as anticipated so I'm actually not that surprised about the price...for that price I'm guessing you can't really lose. But I just don't like it personally. I've tried very hard to. Tried one on and still didn't like it.

I'm happy they are taking chances tho and creating new and interesting pieces for everyone with all different tastes to enjoy.

Sounds like the prices will come down on these. The 5170 in general was a dud.....so I guess we wait and see.

It will be interesting to see if this one seller sets the market, or if he’s an outlier. Production numbers and length of the production run will matter, too.

I have seen them sitting around at ADs as well, just like the other versions of the 5170.

About the only thing they have going for them is that they are so beautiful. Other than that, they got nothin'.

If this deal is real and the seller is legit. Someone had better buy in on this asap. I thought I got a decent deal but this is stellar if you can buy one new for that price.
