Tudor BlackBay ETA px for the new 300M seamaster? Thoughts and opinions please

Hi everyone! First post I think on the Omega section.

I have a Tudor BB Black ETA which I don't really wear anymore. I like the new Seamaster (grey dial on bracelet) and was thinking of px ing my BB for it. The dealer kindly asked if I was absolutely sure and I should think about it. I know it's a limited run etc but it just sits on my winder and future / residual value is not the be all and end all for me, enjoyment of the watch is. The new Seamaster is very impressive imo.

I don't want to add, just swap one watch for another.

Am I being stupid?

I don’t think so, both are great watches, but I’d want a watch to wear and enjoy. The new Seamaster is an amazing watch!

Go for it. Hopefully the px price of the ETA will mean little cash going towards the new one. Better on your wrist than stuck in a winder.

If you're not enjoying the Tudor, then I can understand swapping it for something you think you will enjoy.

The new Omega looks dynamite, I think.

I'd be tempted, really like the new grey dial.

The grey dial looks really nice but I'm waiting to see it in the metal. I tried on the rubber strap but I am not keen on pin and buckle. I'm considering the blue too.

I am keeping my eta black bay for sure - I still wear it a lot and the increased value is a bonus

I had a speedmaster mark II to part ex which will go a long way to pay for my black bracelet 300

but I was in the same place as you with my speedmaster so one in and one out made sense

shame to sell the BB but I would do the swap if I was you with your view of your BB - better to have a watch you want then one you don't no matter how nice it is

Your last sentence is accurate.

The first is only half true.

Sell the Tudor.

I would probably try to sell the Tudor before I traded it. Unless the Omega dealer is willing to step up to the pump.

But I would keep my BBN if it were me.

I would definitely do it.
No offence to BB ETA owners but it’s a boring looking watch.
The Seamaster 300m is in another league.

Agree. Suspect you won’t top dollar for your watch & May also effect you negotiating a discount on the smp

I prefer the looks of the TudorBB over the Seamaster so I wouldn’t do it. If it were the Planet Ocean or Speedmaster Moonwatch, then I would surely pull the trigger.

I had the PO and it sat too high on my wrist and I will be in the minority but the Moonwatch doesn't appeal to me at all, maybe it being a manual wind is a factor.

I was offered £2.5k for my watch for a bracelet model plus a free strap. I said I’ll think about it.

Tough one. I own both (blue dial). Omega SMP is another league but the ETA has appeal. I wouldn't trade it.

The BB does have it's appeal but I agree, the Omega is altogether on a higher level. I'm edging to no deal though, I've sold or traded before in the past when not sure and each time regretted it. I could wait and get it at a discount down the line but the BB I'm not sure I could get it again especially as I've had this from new.
