Got both white and black from AD. Got the black right after Basel and then the white a year later. Long time customer of AD who takes great care of me.

I've been waiting and saving patiently since August. I was offered a BLNR while I waited which I politely declined as I am really enjoying the chase. Will continue to save until I get the call.

Purchased my black dial from an AD that I've had prior history with for MSRP. Wait time was 6 months. Was told it would be 2 years for the white so I went with the black.... very happy with it and no regrets getting the black.

White, took one year, and I was first on the list right after Basel. Was offered black after maybe six months but held out for the white.

Am I the only poster on TRF in 2018 who was able to walk into an AD and buy a white 116500 off the shelf?

So far, yes, and we've read your story about 100 times by now.

I'm sure there is somebody else, but didn't you find yours at an airport AD? That's an almost impossible right place, right time situation.

Purchased the Black dial mid-November - 32 month wait time.

Originally placed the order for a white dial April, 2016 but it seemed like the AD was giving me the run around for the White, so decided to purchase the Black dial (and hope they can get the White dial within a year or two).

Only history I had was TT Sub (2016), and an earring. (Picked up the Pepsi from same AD this year and could have picked up the TT Rootbeer as well - passed to get the Daytona)

Lol. It’s the only interesting story that I have to tell. Posters keep asking if it can be done. And posters keep saying it can never be done.

Still kicking myself for not buying the black one too.

It can be done if you have a relationship with an AD and have previous purchases etc. Or if you put your name in the list anywhere day 1 in 2016 when initial deliveries were sort of plentiful. 2 years later, it’s a no go. They’re all mostly VIP only or with existing relationship. Every 116500ln I’ve encountered was always “on hold for some
Guy” who bought an expensive engagement ring or several watches before.

The idea you can get on a list and get one within 2 years in a popular market is laughable. The idea of walking in and seeing an SS DaytonaC White in a case is fantasy. Nothing is impossible mind you. The new AD that opened in Sam Diego may have a fresh list.

Gray market is the only other option to essentially skip the line. The premium is the cover charge to skip the line. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No doubt. You're certainly lucky. Hopefully you can land a black at some point.

I like the white but the black is such a stunner. They're two different animals entirely.

Got it from an AD in a year. I've only purchased one other watch from her but I was the first to call when the watch was announced.

I asked my AD in the first day of Basel 2016. Got it 11 months later. Thanks to my AD, they did a great job. Now i am waiting to get the black one as well.

Have you gone back to that AD to see if you can do it again?

Are you considered to have a relationship in that ADs eyes where you can pick up other sought after pieces (assuming you want them) like the Pepsi or Daytona SS black or SD43 or Hulk?

MSRP and a one year wait for the whiteface Daytona. Purchased six watches from this AD before acquiring the Daytona.

Bought January 2017 from my AD. Long time customer. Still waiting for black dial. Told me he needs to sell to others on the list who haven’t received one yet before selling me a 2nd one. Understandable.

Purchased the White version at MSRP, Out of State AD - No Sales Tax.
- Requested when launched. It finally shipped and delivered a few months ago.
- I was persistent and checked in Monthly until my name was picked. I called in so often my Sales Rep recognized my voice whenever I called. It also helped I visited the store whenever I was in town.

Wow that’s fast ! Was this in NYC location ? I’m there and every AD I’ve gone to even the ones I have a relationship with it’s near impossible.

I purchased my first Rolex by walking in local AD almost six months ago.
Month later I purchased BLNR from the same AD. And two days ago purchased DaytonaC black again from the same AD. All watches purchased with MSRP. But getting Daytona was cost me extra $4.5K for my wife's bracelet. This was condition on which AD sold me Daytona. But that's OK because I need a present for my wife's birthday anyway. So win-win situation for me and my wife. So I purchased all my three watches in less than six months all for MSRP from same AD

Mine was from a grey for a bit under $16k. Made some when I traded it in to an AD.

It was my third purchase within 12 months from my AD, who I have an excellent relationship with. I'd previously bought a DJ41 blue dial and a D-Blue Deep Sea this calendar year. My 116500LN took 11 months from the moment I requested until receiving.

My AD is the only AD (with 2 shops in different malls) in a city of 3 million (Jeddah - KSA).

I picked mine up in October this year and was offered white or black on pick up day, I stuck with my original choice of white. I did ask how many they had received so far this year and they stated before mine, 4 black and 4 white.
