Land, Air, Sea with Rolex, Tudor, Omega. Which ones?

I like the idea of a 3-watch collection. I also love the concept of a Land, Air, Sea trio. And my 3 favorite brands are Rolex, Tudor, Omega... so I'd ideally like 1 of each. I already have a Rolex Sub.

The air part seems easy and several options - Tudor GMT, Omega Speedy, for example.

The sea part (if I hadn't already covered it) is even better - Tudor BB, Omega SMP, PO, etc.

But the land part is kinda hard, can't think of good options from either Tudor or Omega...

Anyways, having covered the Sea part with Rolex, what would be your choice to round out the Air and Land with Tudor and Omega?

Get the speedy and the Tudor GMT. That would be a nice trio with the Sub. And the speedy, being a chrono, would fit into the 'Land' category as well.

I would agree with Opawlows. If you are looking for Land, Sea and Air and wanting a Rolex, a Tudor and an Omega and you already have a Rolex Submariner, I would go with the Pepsi GMT Tudor for Air and the Omega Moonwatch Professional 42mm for land.

Surely an Omega Speedmaster MOONWATCH is space not air

It's so hard every time someone posts one of these 3-watch threads. Given enough time and resources, you will probably wind up with more than three. Hehe.

Pertaining to LAND - in the Tudor world my favorite is the Black Bay Chronograph - classic piece with a modern touch!

Sea = Omega Seamaster Prof. ("Shaken, not stirred", always when it´s getting wet ...)
Air = Rolex GMTII

So many good choices in all three brands for all three categories. I don't think I could just go with three. Well, okay...I know I can't go with three.

If you're sticking with one per brand, I would go Tudor GMT for the air and Speedy for land. But, I have to say, I tried on the BB Chrono the other day and it was very nice.

Land..it's the watch dial that is based on the bloodhound land speed record car.
Sea...it's waterproof to 100metres..
Air ..it's called an Air King which pays tribute to the pioneers of aviation.

Land: Speedmaster
Air: Tudor GMT

People tend to forget that the Speedmaster was originally conceived as a racing watch, thus the land category.

Good four, but Neil and Buzz landed so it's not a space watch only, it is land too, even without the chrono function.

Land: Speedmaster Professional (it's a motorsport watch, not an aviation watch)

Air: Rolex GMT Master II with a Pepsi bezel (it's the one that was issued to PanAm flight deck crew members)

Sea: Tudor Pelagos because it's one serious diver's watch.

Sea - Omega SMP
Air - Tudor BB GMT
Land - Rolex Daytona

Rolex = DateJust 36 / 41 (depending on your wrist size.. 7" or above go 41) - land
Tudor = Blackbay GMT - air
Omega = Brand new, 2018 = black or blue. Seamaster 300M Ceramic.

Not only is it air land and sea... but all look totally different and gives you dressy options to more casual to anything... all are also waterproof so added bonus.

They landed on the moon and on earth water... And one of the things no one talks about is one of the Omega's crystals blew off the watch on the lunar surface iirc. Update source one on lunar lander, and apparently at least one other crystal failure of the speedmaster not mentioned in these brief references but discussed elsewhere (https://timetransformed.com/2014/10/...a-speedmaster/ https://www.fratellowatches.com/frat...ut-dave-scott/ ).

The Rolex GMT master is also a space watch ... Brietling Cosmonaut could also be a good choice for Air/Space although imho GMT Master > Cosmonaut.

Sea: Tudor Pelagos, I prefer it over my Sub.

I wouldn’t be so hung up about having a text book air, land, sea combo because it boxes you in and limits your options. I wouldn’t box myself in with those 3 brands either.

You have a Sub. That’s a keeper. Get an Omega Speedy and a JLC Reverso small seconds.

That’s the ultimate power trio right there. The most iconic diver, chrono and dress watch. Hard to top that.

Absolutely. In my mind.... The time zones are set based on divisions of various land areas around the planet; not necessarily related to flight.

So setting a second hour hand to indicate London vs NY time or current zone vs home time has nothing to do with how I get from one to another. Or whether I ever visit a place at all. It could just be me keeping time of the home office vs where I am.

So how exactly does that have to do with "air"? It has to do with the current time on a different land mass.

The GMT was specifically designed for frequent fliers (i.e. PanAm pilots) so they can easily keep up with the various time zones by simply rotating the bi-directional 24hr bezel.

This is exactly why it's considered an "air" watch. I thought everyone knew this.

This is good advice. You could change up the JLC to something else. But clearly you have the sub for sea. If you want a nondiver Omega, the Speedy is the best option, that covers air/space, or maybe even land as the speedy is a chronograph which is usually associated with land. Anyway, I would go sub, speedy and the either an Explorer, IWC pilot, JLC reverso, Tudor ranger. I’d say north flag but to me the whole lug/bracelet system gives me pause.

Of course I know that, I guess I just look at it different. Time zones are tied to land masses specifically which definitely = ground to me. I'm sure I'm wrong, but it just seems to make the most sense, not why it was actually developed.

Now, if it was a Breitling navitimer or a omega speedmaster... that equals astronaut or pilot watch which = air all the way.

I guess what I'm saying is that back in the day they actually used the watches to perform calculations in the act of flying or reentering the atmosphere from space, lol.....

Same thing with a divers watch, it had a functional purpose pertaining to the act of diving. IMO a gmt hand could stop working and it wouldn't have much effect on the pilots ability to perform his tasks, just that he might not know at a glance what his home time was. the other ones... not so much. They might not make it home in a failure.

ps I'm not arguing your point. I know most will look at it your way. Its just how I feel about it. lol. If none of that makes sense, I only got 3 hours sleep today. :(
