My collection is in a great place right now, I feel very lucky. But I do have a big birthday coming up and possibly a career milestone, so I'm thinking about the next acquisition, as I'm sure people in here can understand. Where should I go next?

The core of my collection is:
ExpII Polar 42mm
18038 DD, YG champagne dial
JLC Reverso duetto travel time, steel
Grand Seiko Snowflake
Seamaster Electric Blue wave dial
FC Worldtime
Several Seiko divers

I tend to prefer modern watches from established brands. I don't use chronographs and prefer divers/sports watches, dress watches, travel complications or calendar functions. My Rolexes and JLC are lifetime keepers, anything else could potentially go. Budget probably $10-15k max. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be Rolex necessarily. Looking forward to what the experienced collectors in here might think!

How about a Sub Date or one of the GMT’s? I personally love my SD43 but people have a love/hate with the size. Would depend how you feel about the size but that is an option in your budget as well. If you up the budget some AP has a few nice pieces that could be had.

I’d look at Lange, Breguet, Blancpain, Vacheron, AP — there are lightly worn references of these out there that should fit within your budget - and definitely compliment your collection.

I'm thinking maybe a nice 116610LV / Hulk would fit nicely in your collection? Definitely different than everything else you have. Right in your price range as well. Very nice collection BTW!

Thanks to all for the suggestions. Subs and Gmts have of course crossed my mind. Skydweller always seemed out of reach, but the Rolesor version is an interesting proposition. I do love blue dials, but can anyone explain why the blue dial Skydweller seems to be commanding roughly a $5k premium over black or white dials on the secondary market?

Blue is more popular, same with AP RO, and Nautilus.

I would go Bluesey 116613 and see if you can rock the blue dial, then after 1 or 2 years of saving, I would upgrade or flip for a WG or YG Sub, because once you go PM, your in a whole nother world...

I like this advice, as it is clear that you are not stuck on one brand alone and have a great collection as is. Outside of that, if it had to be a Rolex, I think a DSSD (Cameron since you mention blue dials) would fit in there very nicely.

You might be able to find a 39mm Royal Oak Chrono at the upper end of your budget. May need to add a little bit if you find a nice one.

An AP Diver will also probably fit in your budget.

Seems you like different brands so maybe add something new:

AP RO 15450/15300/15400 (bit above budget but worth it, which model depends on wrist size)
Blancpain FF (if you have the wristsize for it)
Breguet Marine Big Date (a steel on the secondhand market)
ALS Saxonia (formal dresswatch, secondhand market)
