Photographing Watches - Help!
What is the secret to photographing watches? I have tried multiple options and lighting to take photos of my watches and I can't stop from getting massive glare on the face of the watch. Some of your pics are beautiful and mine look like they are taken by a six year old. I even tried getting out one of my old digital cameras and that did not make a diference. I have to assume most of the pics are taken with a phone?
Thanks |

Lighting and composition. Two different cameras and a phone for these three images.

Wooof. Lots of screen tapping and tilting. These pictures were taken on an iPhone X and using a jewelers loupe up against the camera lens. It’s mostly about having fun with it and finding interesting ways to photograph this metal ticky thing on my wrist.

I rather like an off the wrist shot to capture some of the scenery and/or add some drama to the photo

I recommend download the Snapseed and/or Camera +2 apps. They are free and allow you to adjust many aspects of the photos, plus includes several filters. Cheers, Tim

Natural lighting, proper angles that minimize glare, and practice, practice, practice.
