Wow that's awesome! I'm gonna try throwing in some Baskin-Robbins for an iced out white gold GMT!

I’ve offered my ad all sorts of sexual favours for a Daytona so I’m amazed all I had to do was through in a tub of donuts.

Sage advice on TRF.

Donuts really work!

I had some trouble getting the watches I was after also. I too decided what do I have to lose. So I brought in a Shaqaroni from Papa Johns. We had a chuckle at the name then they asked me to come look in the safe with them. They showed me a Platona, a Rainbow Daytona and about a dozen new old stock professional series and said I could chose any 2 and pay retail with no taxes. I took the Platona and Rainbow Daytona of course and got them on a no interest payment plan. That $15 pizza sure paid for itself. And it was delicious.

The AD said food and alcohol gifts are the only way anyone will get a watch going forward. Champagne and donuts and pizza are good but think outside the box. Try sushi or Korean Hot Pot. Make sure you deliver it as a surprise and order enough for the entire store 20+. Remember what they taught you in school, only bring something if you have enough for everyone.

They were always nice but told me long stories of how all their good clients are frustrated and they simply are getting watches very slowly.

As I read the forum, I keep hearing people mentioning bringing donuts! It sounded so ridiculous that I ignored it the first dozen times I came across it. Then last week I decided “What do I have to lose?”

I stopped in with a box of donuts and chatted a moment. I felt like they were trying not to laugh at me and I actually felt pretty embarrassed. As I was about to leave, my SA says “Hey hold on a moment. Do you still want that Daytona?” My voice cracking almost I say “Yes”. “Hold on, I’ll be right back” he says. He them emerges from the back with 2 Daytonas and says white or black? I went with black. He says “good choice”.

Two days later I decided to show up with not one but 2 boxes of donuts! Plus kolaches! After we enjoyed our breakfast, My SA says “let’s go in the other room and sit down”. He sits me down behind the screen door and says “I’ll be right back”. He returns with a tray full of watches: white gold sub, root beer, Batman, green sub, an oysterflex Daytona. I pick the white gold sub and root beer GMT.

So there you have it. The way in is donuts and kolaches.
Is this true?

Oh I forgot the most important part. When they open the Shaqaroni box you have to yell “SHAZAM!” And throw a couple handfuls of candy in the air

I don't think donuts as breakfast started in America. Check your history and then check your bigotry at the door.

It’s the Kolaches that did the trick methinks.

Cheery story - thanks for sharing that.

Would be funny if half the AD's around the country were inundated with donuts this weekend, all inspired by this post.
