Is a 1600 worth US$2 690?

Hello,

I ask this question with a little trepidation, mainly since I am overwhelmed by all the information on here, and I fear that I might have missed the definitive answer to my question lurking in there somewhere.

Sure, i understand that there will be some answers that will say it is worth whatever anyone will pay for it, but as a not particularly committed to collecting owner of a couple of 5500 Air-Kings, a 1600 Datejust and my original Tudor from 1967, I'm really just looking if there are others out there that might have any idea whether US$2 690 is a fair price for this particular item?

I have bought from this vendor before, and although I have not sent that particular Rolex to my Rolex mender for a service and general going over, I don't have any qualms in dealing again with this vendor ...

Cheers, all the best, Peter

Steel 36mm datejust 4m serial for AUD 2700/USD 2.600/EUR 2.000.

I'd say that's about market.

Thank you for your views, as I cannot just drop in and view it, I might just demur on this one and put the $2 200 I was prepared to part with towards servicing the other Rolexes and Tudors unless one at that price point appears in the near future.

BTW Mark020, the AU$ has been worth more than the US$ for some years now ;-)

Cheers and all the best, Peter

I'm sorry. Calculated the wrong way around (and it was my job years ago :-)))
