South African MilSub?
Are these watches a known thing? Some thoughts on another forum that at they may be just “issued” to a dive company (similar to Comex).

I am no expert on the South African milsubs. (though I do have extensive knowledge on the Canadian milsubs and have owned a US navy issued 5513). My first impression is the seller is hyping it up a lot with a lot if irrelevant images and suggestive information with no supporting evidence.
I would have to do some heavy investigation on this piece before I considered a purchase.

Ummmmm????
I picked up on the bracelet : 7206/80 Rivet Link "Big Crown" Bracelet.... surely this would have been on a Nato if a military issued watch? I guess it could have been switched out whilst in a civilian hands, but then why not a 93150 Bracelet ??? I'm sticking around to learn more,

No, not necesarilly. Only the Royal Navy issued 5513/5517's were issued with fixed lugs and straps. The Canadian, French, early USN and other issued watches were standard pieces with removable springbars and were issued with bracelets. They just typically wore them on straps. Also, only the Royal Navy 5513, 5517's and dual marked 5513/5517's had sword hands.

Military provenance (or lack thereof) aside, that is one beautiful dial!
