Do vintage oyster bracelets appear folded instead of fused on the side?

Saw this great older piece, but find it hard to believe the oyster bracelets by Rolex were folded and not fused on the side. Were older bracelets made like this? Is it an authentic bracelet?

I used to think it was a cheap look. Now that I have a 1675 on one, realize they are very comfortable to wear and look great on vintage references

That's the way they were in the olden times.

Yup. Folded links were a thing.

I find the solid 93150/78360s have worse stretch wear and busted links than the 9315/7836 foldees. Just my opinion

I always thought they looked cheap. As soon as I obtained a solid link Flip-Lok I got rid of the old folded one.

Yep that’s how they were, before that they were riveted with sprung links. You have to remember at until relatively recently Rolex’s focus was on solid, reliable tool watches and their prices weren’t as high in relative terms as the more ‘luxury’ models they make today.

Do not need to worry about the folded bracelet. It matches very well especially with the vintage model. Super comfortable to wear too.
