Watchmaker question
Can most any reputable shop work on most watches? Example, I have a Doxa watch, Kobold watch and if I wanted new seals and movement service could they do it? I know the common answer may be send it back to the manufacturer but I'm still curious if they can be serviced elsewhere.

Watchmaker question
I think it depends on parts availability which is controlled by the manufacturers of the watch's components. Less of a problem with common, widely available components, but more difficult if everything is produced in house and the company has a restricted parts supply model. Best to ask the watchmaker you are thinking of using.

Don't send them back to Doxa or Kobold unless you don't mind long wait times and no communication.

Doxas typically used ETA movements, so any competent watchmaker can work on them. (I think the same goes for Kobold watches, but I don't know much about Kobold watches' movements.) I would suggest finding a good local watchmaker and working with him. You would save significantly in the long run.
