I'd wear the white dialed MG in a heartbeat, just haven't gotten around to buying one yet.

I love the look of the Milgauss, but I wish it was a little smaller. A 36mm - 38mm Milgauss would be amazing!

Why is the Milgauss so unpopular?

I took a friend with me to an AD when I bought my Sub and he was looking at the Milgauss...in the end he was put off by the thunder hands. He thought that over time that was something he would lose interest in, I tend to agree with him.

Howdy,

Makes sense since most lefties are nonconformists of sorts!

Damn, I only read the last two posts, but would be a little bummed if a "Why is [a watch I own] so unpopular?" thread had twelve pages!

100% agree, I own the Datejust II but have a friend that owns the Milgaus and loves it dearly. He even brought the Rubber B strap for summer time and it looks amazing on it.

Umm. Rolex and practical in the same sentence without a "not" between the words? Hmm.

I am new to the Rolex world and, in general, nicer (more expensive) watches. I purchased an Explorer II polar a couple months ago and love it. When I think about a next watch, the Milgauss is one that I lean towards - I like the quirky looks of it and think the dark faces with green class is very cool. However, after reading this forum for several weeks, I realize that I'm not a typical Rolex member. I don't get real excited by the Sub or the DSD or even the Daytona - and I know this is blasphemy on this site!:) In fact, if I could afford it, the next watch I would definitely buy is the Cellini everose gold Moonphase! So there - I've opened myself up to ridicule on this great forum and I'm prepared for the beating! Oh yeah, I do fancy the Yacht Master - does that redeem me in any way? :)

Milgauss is a solution to a problem most people do not have. From what I've read, it's never been a popular watch even in its first generation. Over engineered in the diving watch category is a more sought after trate, hence the popularity of the diving watch.

Hows the Rubber B strap going for your friend? I'm thinking of buying one and have seen mixed reviews but it looks like a great product. I currently have a GMT Master II.

I own a Milgauss and the thickness and weight are issues but since I work around strong magnetic fields (and have magnetized other watches) I have no choice. I got an Omega 15'000 Gauss (for the slimmer case) and although it has more magnetism resistance, the Milgauss has enough and is more acccurate than the Omega. Does anyone know the magnetism resistance of the 3235 movement in the datejust 41 or has anyone tried the home experiment shown in this YouTube video comparing the Milgauss to the Omega 15'000?

https://youtu.be/elq8p8ZVCUk

I don't need 15,000 gauss resistance, only ~300 gauss, so I'd trade the Omega for a Rolex datejust if the latter had as much resistance as the Omega.

Personally, I think the Milgauss is great. It looks fantastic and doesn't clearly fit into any category. The design also isn't really copied by other companies, making it more unique. It's currently my one and only Rolex.
I love the white dial version , Ive been meaning to get one for years but everytime I try one on I feel that its a bit big on my skinny wrists compared to my sub and GMT.

I personally think that the Milguass with the Rubber B Strap looks extremely good!

On your GMT I think that it would look nice and clean you should def. consider it.

The milgauss is beautiful, especially the blue glass one. But it should not have the word "milgauss" on it (sounds like a German mouse) and also the seconds hand should be replaced by a normal one.

I love the Milgauss, especially in the z-blue dial. Too bad Rolex doesn't make in a 31mm, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. I have tiny wrists, 6" circumference.

Shaved arm hairs and all... better aero for the new watch?

I dig the blue mill. the green tinted crystal makes the watch.

how's the resale on these? tough to find buyers?

Haha, totally better aero! Yeah, I like the other configurations but the blue face and green crystal really go well. I picked this one up from a trusted seller here (couple grand below retail) so my resale should be pretty good! I think this model is the most in demand out of the black face & white face.
