Speedmaster Meteorite Dial
I'm considering purchasing this piece. Does anyone own one and what are your thoughts?

Honestly, I'm not a fan. If going for a meteorite speedy, I'd definitely hunt for a Soyuz LE. That one is stunning.

I love meteorite dials. That one is a bit darker than the Rolex meteorite dials. But I like the contrast.

I've tried this one on before and think it's a really awesome piece with such a unique dial. I own another DSOTM variant and find the construction and movement to be top notch. The pic of this particular dial is especially cool.

It's pretty stunning in person, hard to get a good picture of the GSOTM meteorite....works well with the gilt accents IMO. I just think still bottom line it's not as nice as the Apollo Soyuz as people mentioned....and the fact I swore to myself I'd never buy watches that size again for my puny wrists (I own the GSOTM and the 216570, these will be the last larger watches I buy.....keeping them because they are spectacular). I do think this one looks better than the Daytona meteorite but the Daytona meteorite got it beat in terms of size and wear by a mile...unless you got pretty big wrists. The meteorite contrasts on the Daytona is just not as sharp as the darker Apollo Soyuz or this darker GSOTM variant......

This watch is stunning. The one downside IMO is the legibility. I saw it in person at my local boutique. Couldn't read the time quickly.

I really like the watch but find the legiblity to be some what limited due to the darkness of the dial and contrast to the watch hands. Not a deal killer, but just something to be aware of. My biggest concern is the price that I could pay for one based on what the trade or resale value would be. These watches drop like a rock and it is even worse on resale. Doesn't matter if you keep the watch but even the best plans do not work out that way. If NIB I would need to be in the 35-40% of retail and if pre-owned at lease 50-55% off.
