Hard decision need some advice!
Hi everyone. Hoping you can help. So I'm torn. I'm going to buy a new sub date stainless at some point. The only minor flaw I have with the current one is the width of the lugs and the potential possibility of the new 3235 movement going in there relatively soon. Of course there's no way of knowing if the lugs are going to change but it's pretty safe to say that the movement will be updated at some point and the way the lugs are trending in the other rolex divers I wouldn't be surprised if the lugs get narrower at some point as well. What I'd hate is to buy one today and next year one of those two aforementioned changes happens. I suppose I could always flip it but in the interest of saving money, I'd rather not of course. What does everyone think. Buy now, wait at least till Baselworld 2018 since it's already four months into that? Thanks

Buy it now, go preowned if you want extra insurance. It's very unlikely to change in the next couple of years.

Buy it now. It may not change for many years, and at that point you'll just wish you got to start enjoying the watch earlier.

If you don't like the lugs I would go for something else personally! As Neil said they are unlikely to go away any time soon.

I personally do not think the lug size or movement will be changing any time soon, Rolex may surprise me but I wouldn't count on it. Live in the moment and buy what you enjoy now, if something changes down the line you can always flip it with no issues.

If you're on the fence as it looks like it. I'd wait for the new release. You can always buy the fat lugs current release if the new ones don't make it for you.
Buying now and flipping later will run the risk of losing money and will keep you on edge while trying to flip. It's not like you need a watch now coz I'm sure you have some watches just lying around. Sent from my G3116 using Tapatalk

The lugs appear far bigger in pictures. I'd be surprised if you even noticed them after a few hours of owning one.
Almost every other discontinued Rolex seems to go up to stupid prices so you might actually break even Buy now of forever hold you peace. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk |
