This or that

Curious as to the forums view on the better watch

Tudor BB GMT or

IWC Mark XVI

Lucky to own both and not sure which is better on terms of quality/ prestige/ and just overall wearability

Thanks

I like the GMT better. GMT function and I like the Pepsi look. And I own an IWC Mark.

The GMT had a problem with changing dates. Has that been resolved?

GMT. It has become my daily driver which means leaving far more expensive watches in the drawer.

My vote would be the IWC but both are nice.

I prefer the Tudor GMT. I like the retro looks and it is a strap monster.

I would take the IWC. More versatile. I have thought about that Tudor before and I would feel like I am compromising and would want the Rolex version (which is impossible to get).

BB GMT, all day, every day. IWC, nice watch, but it tells time. The Tudor has a rotating bezel [for multiple uses] and 2nd time zone. Much more functional.

Tudor in this case. If we were talking about an IWC Portuguese, my answer would be different.

IWC though Tudor with GMT function is practical and nice too. You are lucky to have them both.

Yes I am. Both gifts (IWC from wife and Tudor from a client at end of if successful transaction)

The IWC is a good, simple, easy to read pilot watch that isn't too big and is well made. I like it.

The Tudor is a GMT, so that's an extra feature. But as far as 'prestige' goes, it's inferior to a Pepsi Rolex whose style it apes. Compared to Rolex, I like the Tudor's lack of cyclops over the date (personal preference), but in other respects it's just an 'affordable' approximation of that modern classic.

The IWC is not trying to be a Rolex or anything else. It's just an honest, well made, competent pilot watch. There aren't many better. So I would rather have that than the Pepsi wannabe. Well done to your wife!
