My neighbour Andrew, is waiting on a hip replacement.
Normally a keen runner, he has a treadmill for those really bad weather days.
He's using it to excercise his Border Terrier (Bisto), at the moment.
I think he keeps his DD on, that's Andy, not Bisto, ....of course.

i have to ask...do some of you carry your Rolex in the box so it wont get any damage, wet, bumped, scratched, sweat, electric or magnet interference, dropped, hot water, cold water, sea water, crap, urine, sun, mud, air, rain, smog...etc.... or just put it on your wrist and go.....it really is a tool watch you know...

As you’ve said to others Paul, I will say to you...
If it bothers you that much, you can send the watch to me. I’ll take it off your hands (er wrist)!

What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

Buy a professional camera and you´re a professional
photographer, buy a flute and you own a flute.

Warned about wearing my Rolex on a treadmill

I’ve got a fair bit of physics knowledge so I’ll Wade in. I run occasionally with an automatic watch.

It’s fine to use the treadmill and outdoors. To each their own.

Regarding the watch, I think it’s nonsense to damage it while swinging their arms.

Plenty of tossers wear a Rolex -and they’re fine. If anything our sedentary lives leave them under-wound. Plenty of TRFers from working from home due to Covid, wife and kids out, no teams meetings scheduled and a bit of time relaxing in a gentleman’s way has done their watches no harm. You know who you are!?

Re electromagnetism, yes an alternating current generates a mag field. Field strength drops rapidly with distance from source and the sort of currents in a treadmill (a few hundred watts? Maybe 3 Amp but depends on voltage in your home country) will not be generating anything to worry about.

Great post, OP and genuinely one of the most interesting I have read on here for many a long month - makes a welcome change from the ‘how much is it worth threads.’

The fibers of my sweatpants were nicely embedded in the raw rubbed, bleeding knees. That was the last time I ever touched a treadmill
Instead of giving up treadmills, consider making your shoes are tied. (Or get velcro) For me during the winter it's much safer to run on a treadmill then in the dark on ice covered narrow streets with traffic.

Exercise is why fitness watches were invented.

I’d be most concerned about sweat with any other watch.

I would have thought you'd be running on your beach, Lee.

Everyone knows you should only run on a treadmill with a Milgauss due to the electromagnetism. lol

Instead, you should take the watch off and leave it in the gym locker where it will be nice and safe

It's ok...I got vaccinated. The chip that was inserted into me combats the electromagnetism, so I am safe.

Not an issue. Probably something he’d heard and he fancied your Sub and that was just a conversation starter.
