This taxi car surpassed one million kilometers in just line of duty.

My friend has a 11 year old Mercedes with 650 thousand kilometers on the clock and the interior is still absolutely amazing, like new.

We have plenty of statistic of this and it's proven that models like Mercedes, Volvo V70 and cars like Toyota Land Cruiser are the ones that can handle astronomical mileages.

Maybe there can be bad models like ML (which was built in the USA) and maybe Vito (built in Spain?).
You have to find special case stories to find 1M KM mercs. 1M MILE Toyotas are ordinary and done with ordinary maintenance.

Just look at used prices, Mercs drop like a Tag but never stop dropping until they are off the road after 5 years. Meanwhile Toyota Trucks are actually going UP in value in the past year like Rolex.

Honestly, no watch brand is as terrible as a Mercedes in terms of reliability and value loss.

I was a car guy before I was a watch guy. Pictured here is my Vantage V8, manual shift of course! Seems to work well with a classic 5 digit watch.

For your own good on TRF, stop the madness making absurd and opinionated claims. You might not know this since being a very new TRF member but the level of automotive experience on this forum ranges from professional race teams, pro drivers, dealership owners, and automotive industry designers. Its great to have a unique opinion but consider the company you are making it to might be a bit further advanced and more experienced on the subject.

Noted. Thank you. I'll just leave a link to the facts rather than pursuing further opinion.

I have owned 2 W211 ( one AMG ), convertible and and X166 SUV. All seems to have the same issues, rear mail seal seepage, gas tank leaking fuel, airmatic suspension leaks. Yes costs $$ to fix, but sure drives very smooth and nice. Inside joke amongst owners is you get rid of the Benz when warranty runs out (buy a new one) or you get stuck with the repair bills.

Compared to the Land Cruiser and other Toyotas i've owned, you just change the oil and fill the gas and drive.

Crap.

Even in Finland small used car market there are 376 Mercedes-Benzes for sale right now, that have over 500.000 kilometers on the clock.

https://tinyurl.com/2muhvfxw

and only 98 Toyotas, although it's much more common car.

https://tinyurl.com/4j7zr6e3

Stop watching videos from bullshit artists like Scotty Kilmer. His claims aren't based on facts, it's just that he's a Toyota fanboy with no objectivity.

What is the exact argument you are trying to make? That Toyota is more reliable than Mercedes? Objectively yes, they usually are.

But I still would never buy a Toyota over a Mercedes.

Just like I'd never buy a Rolex if I was purely buying for reliability and practicality. A $100 Casio does the trick just fine.

Not sure why you're trying so hard to push this.

Is your vehicle and your Rolex a balance

Were getting severely derailed here gentlemen. Can we just agree to disagree and get it back to “Rolex and cars” and not “Toyota vs Mercedes”.

Brings back memories Lee. My best friend had a British racing green TR6. Lots of good times in that car.....although many of the memories were being on the side of the road waiting for a tow!!

Yea with 6800 miles it’s like a time capsule. Everything stock and even still has original tires!

Amazing..... I tried awfully hard to keep my 88' GT Cobra in mint shape up until early 2000's then found the cancer in places I never would've suspected (firewall) and had to let her go....I loved those cars. Lucky guy. That paint is great too reminds me of the "Mystic" paint days. I think that was mid to late 90's though without reference

Yea there were only 1300 of this teal color produced out of 4994. The mystic cobra was produced in 1996 and is another sought after mustang. I love how the cars are becoming classics that I grew up with.

It is a Morgan - I had it made for me. Under the bonnet lurks a 4.8 V8.

Quad pipes and it sounds very fruity.

It replaced this which I bought new in 2005 and kept for many years...
