Icon6 Champagne Dial w/Diamonds side by side... DDII vs DD40

So I'm pretty sure this topic has been discussed many times, however they never compare similar spec'd Day-Dates. I recently picked up a DD40 to replace my DDII but now looking at both, it's hard to decide which one I like best! They both have their advantages... I'm TORN!!!!

What do you guys think?

BTW... This is the DDII I've had for a few years now.

Here are some great side by side photos of the DDII vs DD40 although they are different styles.

I’m not sure which is which, but at first glance the white dial is more appealing to me…

Think white one is DD40 as seems to have a less wide / fat bezel: prefer that one ober the black one

So the pics of the two Day-Dates with different faces are just for reference on how different the sizes are between the DDII and DD40.

The first pic is of the Day-Dates I currently have, and I'm trying to decide which to keep. I don't need two Presidents that are pretty much identical to the untrained eye.

I'm choosing from the first pic of the diamond DDII & DD40. The rest of the pics are just for reference to size.

The first two pictures don’t show up on my app. So I probably don’t see what you’re actually referring to. But from the other posts, it sounds like the white is the DD40 so I prefer DD40 over DDII.

What's interesting is that every man that I've asked has chosen the DD40, however every woman that I've asked likes the DDII better... hmmmm

DDII for me, I find all the proportions talk as nonsense, having handled them side by side the differences are minimal but the slightly bigger and in my opinion more manly size wins it for the older DDII

I can't tell them apart from 3 feet. If I got any closer it would be awkward. I think with the release of the "41 mm" sub with ultra non-offensive committee-designed proportions everyone is a watch design 0.5 mm genius now.

DD40

Baguette diamond markers look better and further distinguish it from a DJII with diamond markers.

I prefer the DD II for the size, feel and look. Nothing wrong with the DD40 but the proportions are off for me with a 7.5-7.75 inch wrist. Every time I try on the DD40 it just feels small, not in a bad way but just the proportions. I currently own two DD II's, a YG with the white dial and a Platinum with the concentric dial. Prices on the DD II have gone through the roof as the model is discontinued. I would keep the DD II as it is more unique being discontinued and more valuable. The DD40 is a regular production model and can be bought back should you desire. Just my thoughts.

The one on the right (D-D40) looks better for me because of the hour markers are all baguette.

Stunning pics sir. I would go with the DD40. I absolutely love the elongated diamond baguette markers on the 40. I also like the visual effect of the bracelet running thru the case. On the non-diamond dial I still like the 40 because of how the roman numerals are written. The 40 just looks cleaner and fresher. But I would definitely but a 41 had the 40 never came out.

Dd40 every day. Especially if it’s the Diamond marker option

this.

I also went with the DDII due to my wrist size. In your case I voted the 40 because I like the stick indexes better.

Both my wife and I think that the DD40 looks better. I also like that the DD40 bracelet has ceramic sleeves in it (I believe that only the platinum Daydate 2s have these sleeves). So I’d vote DD40. However a previous poster makes a good point about DD2s being discontinued/value retention (which may not be a consideration admittedly).

Exactly! Women prefer DDII

Personally I prefer DDII

I asked a few of my girlfriends they all preferred the DDII.

Interesting.

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for your feedback and asking your friends. Do you think it's because most women prefer round diamonds over baguettes? Or is it that size does matter? Just curious!

DD40 but only due to baquette dial.

If it was a standard stick dial, I would choose DDII.

DD40. DDII is a bit too chunky for my liking.
