I know Bremont makes some nice pieces and at £2-3k is acceptable. But at this price I rather have the Yacht Master II, GMT IIc plus IWC or JLC or Omega.

Me too . . . but even for this money I would skip the Omega . . .

The reason for the high price for the Victory watch is the significance and rare materials used in the making of this limited edition watch! The Victory has wood inlayed in the case back and the barrel is made from copper all from the actual HMS VICTORY! HMS VICTORY is the only surviving warship that fought in the American War of Independence, the French Revolutionary War and the Napoleonic wars. In the latter she served as Lord Nelson's flagship at the decisive Battle of Trafalgar in 1805! Plus some of the proceeds of these watches go towards the HMS VICTORY's restoration. If you are into collecting watches that are more than just a mechanical time piece then I think this watch is a steal! I would trade my Plat Yachtmaster and Datejust in a heartbeat for a Bremont Victory! I have had the privilege to hold one of these watches in my hand and it is stunning! Since only a few of these are going to be made I can only dream of owning a watch like this! That doesn't take anything away from my Rolex, Omega , Breitling or other watches I own or wish to own! I love them all! But I hope this explains why IMHO the Bremont Victory is worth the price! Cheers Jim

It's neither a wow or an ouch for me.

I think the story is compelling, although of no interest for me.

However, its special traits will probably appeal to WIS history buffs, who like to collect the unusual.
