Pam Base Logo - So Nice and So Clean

While other Paneristis were surprised what Panerai did with the SIHH 2018 when it introduced the Pam Base Logo, I was happy to “snatch” this piece which enabled me to re-enter the Pam world after my Luminor Due acquisition of the previous year.

I believe this watch resembles the 15th anniversary Paneristi introduced in 2015 except for three major differences:

1. Instead of ecru markers, this one is in light green

2. Hour and minute hands are in black colored steel with light green for luminosity instead of polished steel in ecru

3. In-house P.6000 movement with three days power reserve instead of the OP Unitas movement

I decided to change the textile strap with this brown OEM strap and the fit for my wrist was perfect. I really love the blue logo which “disappears” when viewed the watch from afar.

Before deciding with this Pam 774, I was debating between this and either the Pam 610 and 609. I was hoping to land a Radiomir case to have some Pam versatility in my collection. However, eventually the Pam 774 won the day. In fact, it was my last minute choice against the Pam 632 tobacco dial Luminor.

With my Pam Luminor Due which allows me to have a dressier Pam for some serious meetings and discussions.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice!

And the (eventual) Radiomir will make a killer trio. ;-)

Nice addition, I really like the new logo models. Great pair you have there, I saw the blue dial Due at the Boutique last week and was very impressed.

While I tend to be a purist in some sense, I appreciate that Panerai has to branch out and get more in line with the competition. My first Panerai is a 562, 44mm Luminor in Titanium with a dark brown dial. One of my favorite models. Not a sandwich dial, and flat crystal. Works well for me.

Cheers,
Carl

Pam Base Logo - So Nice and So Clean

Thanks guys for your nod!

The Radiomir is definitely next in line. I used to have a 287 Black Seal automatic which I sold three years ago. I find the winding of the crown of that Unitas model to be stiff.

I would say that I was impressed with the new in house movement of the Radiomir model which is both nice and buttery smooth to wind. I just couldn’t get over the 8 day printed on the dial. On the other hand, the two new Radiomir models with 3 days power reserve seem nice but the OP logo would be “redundant” to my 774. Thinking still.

Hope to post more pics.
