I tried the orange GMT last week at a local AD. It is very nice. Now, I already have more watches than wrists and had to struggle not to buy it on the spot... I still want it, but I know I will probably never wear it.

Got the "Blueberry". Looks like a good travel and general beater. It's supposed to be a BD present so I'm not allowed to wear it yet.
I know Seiko are renowned for their quality and attention to detail (I have a limited edition Astron which is just gorgeous), bit I'm having difficulty understanding how Seiko came to the price point for this watch - it should be more expensive! The bracelet and clasp are particularly well made and comfortable. It makes me wonder just how good a GS could possibly be. |

Seems like a perfect travel beater. Pool and ocean safe, decent bracelet can handle whatever you’re doing with a little flair, GMT/2nd time zone functionality, some automatic movement WIS cachet, and nobody is going to mug you for it. Especially in safety orange, which definitely doesn’t look like any Rolex. A strong contender for only $500.

Just saw the "Blueberry" at my AD yesterday. It did not have "Made in Japan" on the dial, though.
The bracelet looks very solid, with SEL. Just wish it had the infamous pin & collar system; this one only has pins. P&C is a pain to set, but it will be secure a lifetime (as opposed to pins or screws). |
