Hi ! The watch is 44mm which wears pretty comfortable, considering it's a large watch . The watch has great wrist presence and the blue bezel pops . I had the SS and miss it . It's an underrated and not a hype piece . If possible try one on and get a feel for this unique time piece. Best of luck !

For me it is the ugliest and most useless Rolex of all.

The most interaction I have had with it was trying on a friend’s, it is a chunky watch that is definitely a statement. For me, the size, complication, and dimensions just don’t work. But hey, if YOU like it that is all that matters!

Never been a big fan. Also, at 44mm, it’s too large for me.

So many better references IMO.

It’s a very cool watch and I enjoyed mine when I had it. The movement is a masterpiece and the look is very distinct. People either love it or hate it. From an owner‘s perspective, it’s a very comfortable watch to wear for it size. It has a flat case back that spreads its weight out significantly better than a dive watch of similar size. Excellent wrist presence.

Watch: What's on my wrist
Posts: 33,256
If I still participated in regattas I'd definitely own one. As it is it's just too large for my wrist to even consider as an every day watch. If it were smaller I might seriously consider it. I can't believe how nasty some of these response are. I'd characterize them but no need to add to the fray.

I absolutely love mine! It’s a very unique watch with great aesthetics and very manageable size

Hi OP, sadly your post will garner generally negative feedback from TRF brethren.

I’ve had the YM II for about 5 years and absolutely love the watch precisely for all the negative reasons you’re reading on this thread.

Unloved = seldom seen in the wild (exclusivity)
Resale vale = ditto above (non hyped), when it is discontinued it will skyrocket
Too big = for my 7 3/4 wrist it wears great. (Haters have tiny wrists)
Useless complication = (Yeah ), Deepsea owners regularly diving to 4,000 feet (1,220 metres), Daytona owners regularly timing split second sporting events…etc

I would not have bought the blue ceramic bezel variant mind. The WG is the one that's the rarest and most cohesive design in my view.

Here’s mine

Amen.

I love it for exactly those same reasons. It’s big, bold, heavy, rare to see and attracts a lot of attention, esp in YG

The YM2 is a great looking watch. It is not a multi-tasker.

Quite frankly, if someone wants a watch w useful complications, buy an Apple Watch.

I really like the white and blue combo. Probably looks great dressed down in blue jeans.

That’s ridiculous. Who cares? He wears tons of different watches. He has a different one on every episode. So, if he also has a sub, you wouldn’t wear one?? I doubt it.

Btw, mark wahlberg wears a YG YM2 too and has tons of expensive Rolex. Is he a douche too?

You Sir must be a 7 foot giant. The 44mm Yacht Master II looks small on your wrist.

I like my 116800 Yacht Master II. Yes it’s a 44mm watch so it’s huge, and you either love it or hate it’s looks. The regatta timer complication is special but not useful for most people (I’ve actually forgotten how to use it).

I concur. My wrist is 6.75 inches and the lugs overhang my wrist.

Love my YM2 to bits though.

Wanna laugh? This is before I gained a lot of “weight”, so had to trade/size up:

Personally I don't like it but that's because of its sheer size (my wrists are 6.75"). I love the YM1 though.

Remember this complication was to showcase the technical abilities of Rolex. It was never meant to be a main stream model and was to “specialized”.

There were two variations of this movement. It was initially based off the Daytona‘s cal.4130 movement and built on up from there to produce the cal. 4160. The YMII was released with the cal.4160 but at that time only PM models were available in the YMII. The movement was tweaked a bit to correct some start stop issues. This final variation of the cal.4161 was released when the SS YM was introduced.

It was never meant to be mainstream? Is that why they’ve been producing them for the last 15 years??
