Daytona, time for a change?

So it’s been a few years since we have seen any differences in the steel & gold versions… white, black and champagne dials are getting old! Are we due for a change soon? We used to see some lovely dial options… not anymore!

Maybe a rose gold Two tone for starters?

No more releases, in fact, pare down the product line.

Just make more of what people already want. When you've done that, then make new stuff.

Everose Rolesor Daytona could be nice. Maybe a Daytona II in 42mm amd develop that lineup while keeping the current Daytona lineup as the traditional/heritage offerings.

Meteorite isn’t enough for you?

Oh yeah, no human less than a demigod can get one.

Daytona is certainly due for an update- probably for the 60th anniversary of the model line in 2023. Wouldn't necessarily expect an updated movement from the current 4130, but who knows what they might do with the bezel & with the dial options.

I, for one, am not a fan of the brown of the subdials & ceramic bezel on the current Platona & actually walked away from a barely-worn one last year at a great price (from a friend who had to move it on) as I'm waiting to see what the 60th anniversary edition will look like. (Yes, I think it's that likely that there will be one.)

Daytona, time for a change?

Always loved this iteration of TT Daytona

And

Also would be cool if they change the precious metal bezel to have a ceramic insert like how Tudor (aluminum insert) does it.

The steel and gold versions have been updated quite recently from 116523 to 116503 in 2016 with the new sportier bezel.

I’d love for Rolex to make the Daytona larger so that I can stop wanting more. At the moment it is my most desired watch from them because of the movement, complication and size. I really need to move on to other options.

It would just be another Hublot then

I like the size that it is. The current black bezel makes it look larger than it is. The old metal bezels made it look smaller.

Make more of what people want ?!??!!

They’re rolling on the floor in Geneva over that one.

They might do a new platinum Daytona next year, 60 year anniversary.

Lots of diversity in the Daytona line already but RG TT would be a nice add. I’d be surprised if we saw any major changes in the near future. A couple anniversary models would be cool though, especially with a blue or green bezel.

Would love a TT RG with ceramic bezel. Would almost be an instant buy but probably be up there with CHNR in terms of waiting list.

But so much thicker. Once you get used to the smooth profile of the Daytona it's a very different experience wearing a thick watch. I have three chronographs. One 2016 Heuer Autavia, a Breitling Aerospace and a Daytona C. The Daytona and the Breitling are super thin compared to the Autavia, not to say the Autavia isn't a great watch. It represents the first fully in house column wheel chrono from Tag and has an 80 hour power reserve. It's a beast at over 15m thick, very similar to the size of the Daytona.

A real panda dial with less writing on the dial would be nice.

I'll take gold over ceramic any day!! Maybe ceramic for a discount.

My preferences:
- Somewhat larger to enable more useful subdials.
- A date.
- No screw in pushers, with a new system to prevent water ingress.

I would love to see the elimination of the screw down pushers.

Non ceramic is the ultimate women's Rolex chronograph. No change needed there.
Ceramic however could use a larger (legible) dial but that will not happen.

That would compromise water resistance.

Hopefully, they would discontinue those 3 and come up with something more attractive in a two-tone......like they had years back with the Panda Dial....

The first two are already discontinued.
