I’d go with the white dial SMP. I already have the blue dial, but I might add the white dial too.

White dial SMP on rubber for sure. Great fit with your collection and more interesting of a watch, IMHO.

I have both...sort of (my dad just took the Omega when I got a Submariner lol)...and prefer wearing the 58. Both are great.

omega Seamaster 300 or BB58

I’d say with that collection seamaster. It’s more watch than the bb58 (although it is a great reference and I came very close to getting one once).
The white dial would stand out in your collection and make a great collection even better imho. Coloured seamaster a a great summer watch.

I think you have a fantastic collection.

However instead of selling the BB58 now to fund the Seamaster, I would add the Seamaster. It looks like you have the means.

Later, you can sell the BB58 if it feels right. The BB58 is so amazing, you might regret it if you let it go now.

thanks again everyone for your feedback!

just came home from my AD. tried on the sea master. it really is stunning in person and looks great, however (i may get flamed for this, i am not trying to offend anyone lol) it felt very cheap to me considering it is more expensive than a bb58. the bezel action felt cheap, the crown felt cheap when i unscrewed it to set the time and play around with it… not sure it just didn’t sit right with me.

the Aqua terra i had was a totally different story and was incredible. i miss that watch so i’m sure i will seek it out again soon.

no need to apologize, it's your money. Sad to hear about the omega but not surprised.

Prefer the aesthetics of the 58. SMP 300 too big and not a fan of the protruding helium valve. On the other hand, if you compare to the SM 300 1957, different story... More comparable aesthetics with all of the Omega's mechanical/material advances.

Both excellent watches offering great value. Two levels of criteria for me:
1. Do you think one looks far superior to the other? And do you think that one is just not that attractive to you? This will help determine if one is eliminated from contention or not.
2. Wrist size a limiting factor in my opinion. If your wrist size is <7 in, then the BB58 is a much better proportional fit. If your wrist size is at least 7 in or greater, the SMP300 begins to look pretty proportional. I know that folks with a diversity of wrist sizes wear the whole spectrum of watch sizes, but these two watches are very different in the way they wear.

SM300 is also a bigger watch, right? And there are no advancements over tudor, that is all gimmick plain and simple. Coax is a gimmick, not an advancement. But very few are honest enough to admit it.

Omega gets so many things right :
- movement
- fit & finish
- pedigree

But they fail miserably :
- bracelets
- escape valve
- thickness

Go with your gut.

Vintage Seamaster 300's are cool. Big Triangle, Lollipop and the 1957 Trilogy Seamaster 300 all have a great look to them.

I don't like Tudor at all, just a cheaper version of Rolex.

Omega has it's own legacy, the Seamaster is great.

The main reason I have never owned an Omega are the bracelets - the style, tolerances, and fit and finish of them always seem subpar to me.

I dig the SMP300 on leather though.

I admire your honesty - no firm opinion on this as I've not worn either - just by the pics and my wrist size, I'd favor the Omega
