This guy wears it. Enough said.
I actually think the YM2 is the only serious thing about his appearance; no pun intended towards that gentleman (don't know who he is)

He’s prob one of the most recognizable TV stars out there. His show is a hit, been on for many years now and he has to be absolutely loaded. He loves wearing different large watches on his show and the YG YM2 is just one of them.

I think it looks sick and I think a surprising number of wrists can pull it off. Smaller wrists than you would think you can pull it off.

Seems like a lot of nasty comments here. I wouldn’t purchase one as I prefer the original YM but the YM2 is definitely a nice watch IMO.

I actually like everything about the watch except the giant yachtmaster II lettering on the bezel. That kinda kills it for me personally, but I still like the overall appearance from afar.

It's large and in charge. I thought ill of it until I put it on my wrist.
Love it!

I’ve had the YM II for about 5 years and absolutely love the watch precisely for all the negative reasons you’re reading on this thread.

Unloved = seldom seen in the wild (exclusivity)
Resale vale = ditto above (non hyped), when it is discontinued it will skyrocket
Too big = for my 7 3/4 wrist it wears great. (Haters have tiny wrists)
Useless complication = (Yeah ), Deepsea owners regularly diving to 4,000 feet (1,220 metres), Daytona owners regularly timing split second sporting events…etc

I would not have bought the blue ceramic bezel variant mind. The WG is the one that's the rarest and most cohesive design in my view.

Here’s mine

The WG is my favorite YM2 reference

I love my 116688. It’s often times my weekend watch. I don’t mind the “Yachtmaster II” bezel on the YG model. The gold is much flashier than the emblazoned name. The watch is big and flashy but that’s kind of the point. There are better choices for low key times like a sub.

The one thing that irritated me for a long time was the clasp. Why in the world Rolex decided to put a small GMT style clasp on a massive watch is beyond me. I rectified the issue with a YG Glidelock and it’s even better now.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I would not have bought the ceramic bezel version. The WG is the only YM II with a super cohesive design, and it isn’t as big as you may think, especially if you’ve had a Panerai. But don’t put one on after wearing a 40mm Rolex. Rather where it for a few days and the size will begin feeling normal. When you go back to a 40mm it will feel overly dainty.

There were two variations of this movement. It was initially based off the Daytona‘s cal.4130 movement and built on up from there to produce the cal. 4160. The YMII was released with the cal.4160 but at that time only PM models were available in the YMII. The movement was tweaked a bit to correct some start stop issues. This final variation of the cal.4161 was released when the SS YM was introduced.

Great photo of the movement! Thanks!
