Rubber or leather?

There is something so warm about leather, but so durable and modern with the Oysterflex.

Anyone else have this problem out there, too? I probably switch straps, at least, once a week. Maybe I should just get two Daytonas

Wow - Sounds like some of us have different preferences ;)

Don’t worry, Guys, 90% of the time she’s on her Oysterflex (5% on the RubberB crocodile) and only 5% on this. Which I still like ;)

Exactly what I say to my girls!

Maybe one day I’ll post more pics of my straps - but need to check myself first.

I really want a Rolex built black Crocodile (they have made for other watches), but OEM says no go for this.

Well, I had a problem with a rubber band strap on a $30,000 watch. Very "cheap" looking in my opinion.

I went with a regular leather strap and not one of those whatever you call it straps - and then threw the $25 rubber strap in the watch box.

Yeah - the Oysterflex strap wasn’t my draw to this watch - the Panda Dial was! I figured I’d end up with a Rolex made alligator (or Patek), but the Oysterflex has grown on me immediately/daily.

I like changing all of my watches up. I’m a bit ADD like that - and enjoy the different looks and feel.

There’s something about a proper leather cordovan bund strap (thank you Paul Neuman) that feels so good. The black one you see on the Speedmaster has been worn constantly for 15+ years and is still solid and silky - better with age.

Don’t you worry - this Daytona is basically living on the Oysterflex.

Are you ok with my DeepSea Cameron being on a RubberB, though?

Is this blasphemy, too?

Just got it, but don’t have it near me to take a pic - so grabbed from online.

I don’t mind vintage looking watches on bund straps. But something about modern watches without patina doesn’t work with bund in my opinion. To each their own though. I think the rubber b looks great on the deepsea.

I was, frankly, less interested in what people thought about what I like and don’t like, but more curious if people out there do have the same affliction with changing straps often?

I had a VC Overseas and LOVED the quickchange three straps they provided, for example. But much prefer my Daytona

Sorry but I’m not a fan of the bund straps either. I had a Timex on one as a teenager and I can still recall the stench it collected after a year of wear.
That said, may I suggest taking a look at a custom from Combat Straps. The owner there Aaron has a bunch of different straps he has made for his OF Daytona. It would be made to the exact size of your OF strap using the Rolex clasp. A black stingray strap would look awesome.

I’m surprised you swap the OF as often as you do given the tendency for the lugs to be dinged. I’d personally leave it original, but that’s just me.

I actually think that leather suits it.

I don't like daytonas, but that's about the best combo I've seen..

My first reaction was not positive and some of the posts did make me laugh out loud..

That being said and when looking at your collection, clearly you like that look and I think it suits you and is actually very cool.

I can't remember his name but someone else wore his Daytona with a leather strap.

Leather: The dead skin of an animal, doesn’t like water, skin oil, salt, or anything for the mater.

OF: Advanced marketing technology, costs 1$ for the materials and 2$ for the blades within. Doesn’t like UVs, gets uglier and uglier as time passes. Dubious adjustment possibilities.

Metal: What ushered us in the modern age. It doesn’t care about anything, not even impact force, knifes, UV, and the more you use it, the more graceful it becomes. Some metals are used for space exploration, others are sitting in museums after thousands of years. Yet some people want another material for their watch bracelet.
