What Causes A Thread To Be Closed?

I started a thread the other day about how I was out this past weekend and took my Rolex off and put it in my pocket because I didn't feel the safest at the time.

I asked if anyone else has ever done this.

After about 26 replies, the thread was closed?

I thought that it would spark a good conversation about safety when and when to not wear your Rolex.

Just curious as to why the thread was closed.

Typically after Chewy replies to the thread it will be closed.

We have a rule here, that I don't agree with, but I willingly abide by. Don't mention a few things.

Once that came into the thread (not by you), it was headed for closure.

I like smoking cigars. I don't smoke in places that say "No Smoking" and I still go because I enjoy those places.

Seems like a relevant question and I've done it a couple times.

It's not easy to be a mod and there are some members who purposely post things against the rules to close a thread, but it's hard for the mod to discern such behavior.

Almost all the threads (if not all) about safety and theft get closed.
Has nothing to do with you, but the mods really don't like where those threads tend to go so there's a very short hook.
