How much influence does your significant other have on your watch purchases

I have noticed over the years my wife's take on watches (mine) has a influence on how I feel about the watches I wear. Threw comments mainly like, " that looks like you", "that's a nice watch", "oh that one is hideous ", "it looks cheap".

I have owned literally hundreds of watches in my life time, she has attended watch shows with me and eves drops on conversations with me and my AD. She has no knowledge of what's under the hood or any technical aspects of a watch but is learning.

I have had some very expensive watches from time to to time but out of all the brands I have owned she prefers Omega above all. Recently she stated that IF I had to waste money on a watch, it should be a Omega.

Having her approval on a watch I'm looking to buy is pleasing in a way. To the point now that she will ask my AD questions about a piece I'm looking at. I think that's pretty cool.

I don’t really check her opinion on watches but she did mention she liked the most recent BB58 purchase.

The women in my life unfortunately have more sway over my watch purchases than I would prefer lol.

All of my watches were gifts from my wife on special occasions. She asks for suggestions, and then she chooses.

Over the years my wife has been involved in purchases and her opinion on aesthetics does matter. She is not technically strong when it comes to movements but does have a good eye for watches that look like something that I do or don't have. As watches have come and gone she is very aware of cost, sale prices, value and what they can be sold for. She is a Rolex fan for the values upon resale or trade but likes Omega for some of the use of different colors. She has also had some nice Rolex and Omega watches over the years and is not above selling/trading her watch for something else that she wants. No issues and she acknowledges it as my hobby.

I appreciate if my wife likes what I wear and watches would also fall into that category. I buy what I want, and it just so happens my wife likes them all (so far)

William, you inspire me. I hope to achieve that state of bliss with my wife in time. She's truly a keeper!

She doesn't care what types of watches I buy. She knows it's my hobby and she supports it. Her thing is shoes and purses, I don't say a word.

She has a huge influence on which watch I wear. Her current favorite is a Daytona TT white. It will be different next month.

Separate bank a/C’s & we pay into a joint a/c for bills/ holidays etc.

The only time she’s ever raised an eyebrow was when the 3rd motorbike arrived

My wife was the one who got me interested in the new CHNR/Rootbeer. It became my first TT watch.

Like cars, like watches, most women are not into that stuff the way we men are. It is best to buy based on its investment potential and know where the market is going for that watch.

My wife tolerates it but surprised me with.... pick a watch for your 40th birthday. Buy it early before the price increases (so got it a few months early).

Other than that, she's been ok with my watch buying if I do my best to buy one that holds value. She's an accountant.

She was pleasantly surprised when my Speedmaster arrived a few weeks back. She liked the dial and said it's much better than that black one you wanted (Moonwatch).

I have to sell her on the ones she's indifferent about. The ones she likes, I get to buy on the spot.

Separate bank accounts and she can’t understand why I would spend so much on a watch, and especially why I would need more than one.
