Vintage JDM Omega Seamaster Chronometer


Condition

This unusual chronometer-rated Seamaster from circa 1971 is a reference 168.0061, which was made for the Japanese Domestic Market, and came to me from Japan with some vintage Grand Seikos from the same era.

It is just back from a service at Michael Young’s Classic Watch Repair where it received a full movement overhaul, new setting lever jumper, seals and full regulation. It is keeping excellent time (delta +3.1 secs/day) with strong amplitude and a power reserve of 46+ hours. A digital copy of the service paper and watchmaker’s notes will be included.

The HF stainless steel case is in excellent shape, and still shows the original factory finish, with polishing and brushing in all the right places. Dial and hands are in super shape, as can be seen from the pics below.

The original signed crown operates perfectly for time setting and quickset date function. The acrylic domed crystal seems original (centred Omega logo just visible under x10 loupe), as is the buckle.
