One interesting thing about the 312...
The lume appears to actually be an entire dial of lume with the PAM dial over it. The markers are actually cut out in the dial so that the lume plate shines through. In my oprion, this gives the watch an upgraded look. It's a stunner!!!

I was also wondering a few weeks ago if the the lume in the cutout is a full dial or a small area in the cutout.
Woulndt it be more cost effective (i.e cheaper) to place a small lume material under the cutouts. Than to place a full lume dial beneath a cutout dial. The question is, how expensive is lume and how expensive would it be to cutout the main dial (black) and also matching lume. It may be cheaper to place a full lume dial beneath the regular cutout dial. |

This is your 5th PAM but the first time you've ever noticed a sandwich dial?

OMG... where have you been?
Sandwich is the name, full plate of lume is the game. Glad you figured it out though, it was a feature I wanted when I was searching for my Pam.

I think the sandwich dial gives it a very interesting look - certainly its more of a talking point than the sausage dial. Like others have said, the sandwich dial gives it more "depth", whereas the sausage dial gives the impression of the lettering "floating."
I'm 60/40 in favour of the sandwich dial. : - ) Update - On second thoughts, I'm 50/50. Here's a pic for the sausage lovers.
