Lec 1998

Hi all,

My 16700 from 1998 (U serial) already has the LEC.

It doesn't have an "s" etched, implying either an original crystal or a service one from >March 2009.

Is it possible for a U serial to have a LEC so soon?

Thank you so much for your insights!

Filipe

Seems early for the LEC, but it is nothing to worry about. Either way, having an original or genuine replacement crystal on a late 1990s watch doesn't equate to much of anything value wise.

I agree that this is probably a service replacement at some point in time, unless you got it new and know what has been replaced.

I have a '95 16700 with an "S" coronet crystal and I hope that I never have to change it. They don't make them any more.

I have a u series sub, and it’s been mine from the AD and no laser etched crown.

Thanks so much to all that chimed in.

Maybe it's a service crystal, I have bought this 16700 only a few days ago, without any service bills.

Have a great week,

Filipe
