Hey guys, I've had my eye on this piece for awhile now. I like the brown sandwich dial w/ both a date & second complication. I think it would look good with any shade of brown strap mounted on. I'm just concerned about the composite material. I know it suppose to be stronger than the ceramic, but what about the discoloration issues it once had. Has this been resolved? I know this has the see-thru caseback, so it would reduce any discoloration to the outer perimeter, worse case.

Thoughts!

AKAIK, the discoloration issue was resolved, based on the fact that 339 production has restarted and new composites were released. Also, it's been a while since it's been mentioned here or on p.com.

I'm not sure in which way you mean composite is stronger than ceramic. If you mean that it can take a large shock and just dent unlike ceramic, then, yes, since it is aluminum with a surface coating, but, if you mean that it is more scratch resistant, then, no.

If you are comfortable with the composite material, the 505 is a sweet piece.
