Rolex 1601 Mosaic

Just got this one into the collection. Been waiting a vintage 1601 with blue dial for a while, really excited that a mosaic dial came up for sale. This one comes with a USA oval bracelet. Just want to post some photos and see what experts think? Any concerns?

The bracelet is really long without any removable links so I might have to send this into Rolliworks to get it tightened. The bezel has some rosy patina, should i polish it??

With that rare and amazing dial I would put the bracelet away for a while and wear it on a Bison or Cordovan strap just to emphasize the insanely beautiful dial…leave the bezel as is for now…vintage needs a little patina!

What a dial! I’d definitely send that bracelet to Rolliworks for a little tuneup, great looking Datejust.

Wow, nice watch.

Earlier this year I had a very badly stretched steel USA oval refurbished at RolliWorks. They did a really great job and I was very happy with the result. Super communication and they delivered within the time they said they would.

Those oval link bracelets are not that common and apparently desirable. I’d say “don’t hesitate”. Best of luck with it.

Look good on strap! You could even wear on a black strap…I would also send the bracelet for restoration…it will probably come a day after all were you get bored with a strap…I had my oval bracelet sent of two MY in HK and the bracelet came back nearly too tight…

Very good advice. That’s what I’d do. Beautiful piece OP. Congrats.
