Bracelet looks like its stretched a bit.
Tags are faked quite often. I wouldn't even consider it without having the back off and then Id still be skeptical till I had a watchmaker look at it as there are fakes from Australia which look real even inside.... Not a model I have ever seen before.... An AK is the perfect watch for her, especially since shes tough on it. Send it in to Rolex every few years for a tune up and it will come back like new. An AK will take a LOT more abuse than that Tag. That bracelet is not as tough as the Rolex, the bezel is just another piece to break (theirs are famous for it on the older models). The bezel will show every knick and so will the bracelet with that finish.............. Any scratch will stand out like a sore thumb. Anyway that is simply my two cents and if you cant tell I do not like Tags....

I have a SEL Tag from probably around the same time (mid 90s). I find the case back rather 'off'. Please have it verified to be an original before deciding on it. Good Luck.

Why not just let your wife wear the Air King as a beater? You send it off for service it comes back good as new. She has a great watch to wear and wear well.

Holy long link batman !
Anyway, yes I'd recommend her just use the Air King as her daily watch as well. These Rolex watches can sure take whatever you throw at them. Besides, we have them to wear them ! |

Tag did make a fishbone bracelet like the one in the pic, but something seems off about the watch, and it's mainly the caseback that bothers me. It's sloppy, over-exaggerated, and the serial number is far too large. My guess is that it is a fake.
Like I mentioned before, let your wife use the Air King as a beater, very durable watches and once it needs service, it'll be as good as new.
