Pearl Replacement

I'm going to finally replace the missing pearl on my beloved red 1680. Any tricks or tips so I don't #1 lose it and #2 securely install it. I understand that it's a mechanical (snap in place) install but does anyone use a adhesive ?

Cheers Matthew

Do it over a large bowl, so if you drop the pearl you can find it. The pearls are tiny, of course, and have a tendency to vanish. They're also expensive and tough to source nowadays.

You could put a very, very small spot of clear adhesive/glue on the rear of the insert where the pearl sits as a precaution.

Just as Aaron said!

Snap it in and then put a very very small amount of clear epoxy on the backside around where the pearl meets the insert. Let it dry and you are good to go

Thanks everyone for the help, wasn't easy but your comments were very helpful. Has some trouble aligning it but finally got it in. Popped the bezel and glued the back. Looking new again !!

Thanks again and to Vitaliy for a great pearl.

Cheers
