All of you that have been pledged, I’ve sent a pm to Steve to figure out why you all aren’t designated yet. Will let you know the outcome. It’s most likely my fault, I am not the most tech savvy.

Thank you for the kind words gentleman, this thread isn’t about me though. It is simply to inspire small random acts of kindness and hopefully ignite a fire in one or two members that in turn spreads. I appreciate all of you and everyone that’s commented on this thread more than any words I can muster would correctly explain.

Everyone reading this, you all are amazing!!
Have a great day!!

MrGoat, you are amazing….just as negativity can be contagious, positivity can be as well. I’ve been stepping away a bit from this forum but members like you keep me coming back. Hat tip to you sir!

MrGoat -

Apologies for the delay. Lotta balls in the air. Kudos to you for supporting good causes everywhere and in the process hopefully inspiring others to follow suit.

https://acrs.org/ is a great organization and I am really happy to be working with them on a fundraiser in conjunction with the debut of my new band.

ACRS delivers a multitude of services to an underserved demographic.

If anyone here is in Seattle and is a fan of the soul jazz/funk/r&b genres please join us.

Great venue with generous pours and a cool owner that I’m trying to talk into sitting in with my band.

Probably won’t be wearing a Rolex for that event - leaning towards the Kurono Tokyo if you want to see something you don’t see every day.

There are 24 seats left if anyone here can make it. Thanks!

They are taking it as well as can be expected. I appreciate the offer... right now, I think I am good. I may be out in your neck of the woods in a few months... If I am, I would be happy to buy you a beer.

It’s that time of year again y’all. Just a refresher. I will pick 5 charities and 5 members that post a charity and donate $30 to the charity in honor of the member who posted or pledge a 2023 pledge membership. It’s giving season, let’s help some people!!

Mike Rowe’s foundation is a good cause. They award scholarships to folks seeking a skilled labor education and training. Please don’t pledge me.

The below charity has helped the families of many friends that I have worked with and who have fallen in the line of duty.

Great gesture on your part Joel.

God speed to your friends and peace to their families.

Will definitely look into this.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our countries citizens.

And I don’t and have never wanted this thread to be about me. But thank you. Just trying to spread good vibes and maybe ignite a little spirit in a few members.

EDIT: as a reminder, giving can happen in a lot of different ways and doesn’t necessarily involve money.

As part of highschool, our kids must complete 40 hours of community service and our daughter Ava decided to volunteer at the retirement home.

Once a week she visits with Annie, an elderly woman in her 90’s, with no family. Ava and Annie have developed quite the bond over this past little while. The other day as AVa was leaving, and Annie said goodbye Ava, I love you.

Not sure why, but when I heard this it really got to me. Many elderly people have no one and feel forgotten. A simple kind word and a bit of time can make a world of difference in the life of an elderly person.

Hi MrG. I’d like to nominate The Salvation Army please. They do excellent work throughout the World and I know they do a lot at this time of year to make sure the less fortunate in society feel some warmth and love at Christmas.

All the best!

Thank you for sharing that touching story and reminder Brian.

Sounds like you all did a great job in raising a compassionate young woman!!

My mom spent 9 yrs in a nursing home and I watched the sorrow in so many souls there that had no one and nothing to look forward to. It truly is like they’re forgotten. It’s heartbreaking.

Please DM me as I’d like to send y’all a donation for Ava so she can buy Annie a nice floral arrangement or Christmas present.

Thanks Joel, we are really proud of her.

I appreciate the gesture, but that won’t be necessary. There are so many great causes here in this thread that are worthy of dollar donations but I thank you.

In this case, a little company is all that Annie really needs. That said, we plan to bring her something special for the holidays.

I already give throughout the year to the Salvation Army. You’re right, they do pretty great things. Do you have another one that is close to your heart and does great things? The more localized the better.

Good to hear MrG. Alternatively then, a local charity to us that does a lot of good and has helped several of my friends and their families through difficult times is St Catherine’s Hospice:
