Poll: What's your #1 brand for your grail watch?

Only 10 options were allowed in the poll. Apologies if it was limited. Cheers!

I guess you're still composing the poll.

1. Sorry, but Omega doesn't belong on this list.
2. I'd probably lean towards an FP Journe. The Souverain is a masterpiece.

Grail is an interesting term
I have "attainable Grails" (Grail watches that i could see myself affording/justifying one day) and "Grail Grail" (Grail watches that are so far out of my financial reach and extremely difficult to justify given my net worth)

If we're talking the 2nd one, its Patek all day long (5524R)
Honorable mentions go to AP (Double Balance Openworked) or VC (Historiques 1921)

A Moonshine Gold Speedmaster or Platinum 321 is not something worthy of Grail Status?

Right?

I don't really believe in grail watches ... but this one is right up there in terms of significance to me

Going to go with Rolex all the way, as it's not only my favorite brand, but the one that I have the best chance of actually getting from an AD.

I like some Pateks, and I've liked Lange since they came back around in the 1990s, but I also don't really do dress watches on leather straps, and both those brands are primarily that type of watch. They also seem far more delicate than Rolex, which built it's rep on robustness. You could go skin diving in just about any Rolex Oyster. Try that with a Patek or a Lange.

I have my grail in two categories, attainable with saving up, and unattainable grails. Rolex would be my attainable grail watches, eg BLRO, Panda Daytona. Patek/A Lange would be my unattainable grails (at least the ones i want, e.g. Nautilus perpetual and Datograph perpetual)

Patek 6102p

True "holy grail" watch, since I highly doubt I'll ever actually see one, let alone own it.

Poll: What's your #1 brand for your grail watch?

A Lange und Söhne Striking Time in white gold. The dream, where it will remain, indefinitely.

I kinda only ever wanted a single Rolex to bang around every day. The rest of the stuff I enjoy looking at without the need to own.

Some people came by here yesterday looking for a grail.
I told them we already got one.
It's very nice.

Picked Lange because I feel the last few years have ruined Rolex, Patek and AP. I now associate all three brands with crypto bros, COVID relief scammers, and insufferable personality generally.

Not really. The construction is not of the same caliber.

Agree journe should have been included as well as a few other independents.

Possibly the OP is not yet as familiar with the lesser advertised brands though I am sure his participation in the forum will get him up to speed
