Watches in old sci fi

When I get tired of all things recent, I like to watch 50’s sci fi. Yesterday, I noticed this Longines in one of those movies, Gog. I don’t often notice close up shots of watches in these movies, but I liked this one.

Pretty neat story. Sounds like a fun way to break the monotony.

And nice watch. Good find.

That's a great looking watch.

Here's the modern iteration.

Nice. I suspect it’s larger than the 1950’s version.

To be sure, but it comes in at 38.5mm, which is a good size considering today's trends.

Not a watch, but I spotted this old Rolex advert mysteriously pasted to the front of a giraffe jack-in-the-box in All Monsters Attack (AKA Godzilla's Revenge) from 1969. I photographed the TV with my phone at the time.

I wouldn't say no to a Seiko Ripley or a Seiko Bishop.
