Today's Antique Clock

One interesting product line Telechron did with their clocks, was incorporate them in to other household items, as in this example: Lamps.

The top picture is mine, I think I restored it around five years ago and it is typical of the Telechron way of doing things, simple and reliable. I have it sitting on a 1936 RCA radio and it keeps excellent time. The serial number dates it to 1940, making it the "newest" clock of my collection. Telechron made several examples through the 30s and 40s, below mine are some pictures off the internet. Maybe surprisingly, these are not highly sought after in the antique clock collecting community, I am not sure why. The women playing the organ base is the most coveted, probably because it is the most ornate, but all these clocks, restored, go for around $150 up to $400 (or so) dollars.

It's a fun hobby. At my club meeting we bring in certain clocks or timepiece item and do a brief presentation, I think I'll bring in my lamp clock this week.

Hope you enjoyed

Where did you acquire the lamp shade? It seems perfect for that lamp.

That first one gave me a flashback to my great-grand-parent's home. I don't know if they had a lamp exactly like that, but so much of their decor was from that era. That's an exceptionally beautiful piece.

That’s fantastic Paul. You really have a talent for this.

We should have a state of your collection photo … if at all possible

That model is the essence of a multitasker.

Was there one with an alarm feature in a lamp for bedrooms?
