It's amazing how a gorilla can remember a human being, but none of my 4 ex-wives can.

Gorilla's are very smart and they bond quite well. I cannot understand why anyone would harm a Gorilla, as they are a gentle giant.
I was reading about Koko's kitten and it was a great her wanting a baby and they gave her a kitten. Look at the size of the Gorilla and the small kitten, the Gorilla took care of the kitten, loved that kitten and protected it. |

It just shows you that the animals that we share the planet with deserve to be cared for and honored. They deserve to have a safe place to live, just like we do. As humans, we are so self-centered!
We as a society, expect to be able to do whatever we wish with this planet, we decide whether species live or go extinct. Sometimes we decide on a whim and sometimes we are careless and that leads to whole ecosystems dying. Sometimes we are greedy and cause unrepairable damage. We as a species, really need to do some soul searching! We have the power to decide if other creatures live or die. We as a species, need to stop pretending we are God. This video is an outstanding example of how intelligent some of the creatures that we share this planet with, really are!

A lot of folks just chalk certain animal behaviour up as instinct such as their care for young or for one another. I think for some this is a way to dismiss their intelligence and justify the way they are treated. The longer I observe animals the more I'm convinced there is more there than we realize.

I've always been a fan of the gorilla. One of my favorite animals as I always wanted to see someone train a gorilla to lift weights just to see what they're capable of. I'm serious.
