My DD now small?

After wearing my GMTII-C for the last few months, yesterday I decided to switch around my daily wearer.
Normally, when the warm weather sets in, I put on my original Rolex, a 14k 1503 with a leather strap. Even though i wore it for years, it felt way too small for my wrist.
Then, I pulled my DD out for Mothers Day dinner and was shocked.
It even seems too small compared with I have grown used to.
I never thought I would get used to wearing 40mm watches, but it happened.

Anyone else have this happen?

No, it's the same size it was the last time you wore it. :)
But seriously, fashion is doing a number on men's thought processes about watches.

There's room for all choices, larger vs. smaller. Brilliantly designed things stay that way no matter the ebb and flow.

My DD was a gift given me over 25 years ago and i wouldn't sell it for any amount.
As for the DDII, I would have trouble justifying the price today.
Maybe the DJII however.

Is that Delray as in Delray Beach?
I have family there.

The whole watch size thing drives me crazy. I always chuckle when I see these guys walking around with a wall clock strapped to their wrist. My biggest watch is a Panerai PAM292 at 45mm and my smallest is a Datejust 36mm. I have a big wrist (over 8") and the 36mm Datejust does not look too small. If anything, I feel the opposite. After wearing an elegantly sized DJ for a few days, I have trouble with the PAM looking too big

i put on my dj after nearly 3 weeks with the subc and it was just so comfortable. the subc is a manly watch whilst the dj is unnoticeable but in a good way.
i like them both.

your mind is play tricks on you, what you see is what you believe. the 2c's supercase makes the watch look large, but it really isn't that much bigger. try wearing the classic 16710 gmt2, and you'd notice it looks smaller than the 2c, but they are the same size.

It's not small; but it certainly can feel that way. If I wear my DD II for several days, even my Daytonas feel small at first, but later they seem just right. Interestingly, when I switch from the DD II to the GMT IIC, I don't get the same impression; probably because of the supercase. Having said that, and though I loved my DD, I don't think I could go back to 36 mm after having enjoyed the look and feel of the DD II for so long. I still feel like I can't pull off a 44 mm Panerai, but the DD II feels good. I guess 40/41 mm is just right for me. My grail, however, remains the 39 mm Patek 5146.

i have noticed that when wearing a 40+mm watch for a while and going to the 36mm size it feels small for a day or so but then you "settle" in to the size.
it seems ok to go from smaller one day to larger but the other way around always takes a day to "adjust" IMO. 36mm rolexes' will always be the more refined look IMO also, timeless!

Nope: just the opposite. I quit wearing bigger watches for a more refined look.

I also experience the DJ 36mm feeling/looking very small after after wearing my 16610LV or GMTIIc. But after wearing my Pam 88 or Deepsea the DJ seems way too small to wear. Then I am fine after a couple of days wearing the DJ.
