Everything About The Beatles . . .

Much more than a group, an entire cultural phenomenon that influenced everything in our world. Post your favorite songs, pictures, trivia, questions, anything as long as it pertains to the Beatles.

I loved the Beatles more than any other artists, and will probably always feel this way. I can't say I have a favorite Beatle song as there are so many I love, but these are certainly up there . . .

For all of the young folks out in TRF land the Beatles made Rock and Roll. They were the king of music past, present, and future. They laid the ground work of todays music. They had the bare equipment when it comes to recording music and look at what they put out. The 1960's were defined by the Beatles.

I've always liked them, they were no Elvis of course but I liked them.

I saw them appearing in Stockholm just before they hit it big, (don't remember if it was 63 or 64) and probably have some pictures of that event somewhere.

Leo, that would surely have been '63.

Ya' ol' coot !

(BTW you are quite correct IMO to acknowledge Elvis as the real progenitor of what we now think of as modern pop music. He m/l bridged the gap between the Sinatra "singer as star with backup musicians" and the Beatles "self-contained singer/musician" combo that became the norm. Also, even the Beatles themselves would readily admit to his inspiration)

But, for absolute true musical genius that inspired everybody, you must go all the way back to Wolfgang. Just sayin'

I've always said our Beatles are better than England's Rolling Stones!

John, Paul, George & Ringo. The fab four!

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band....changed rock & roll, changed how rock & roll records were made.

One of my favorite songs....."In My Life"

Sinatra singing "Something" that to me cemented their reputation as incredible musicians.

And who can forget the start of psychedelic rock & roll....."Revolver".....especially the song "Tomorrow Never Knows"....a few years after "I Want to Hold Your Hand"....what a band!

well....actually they took from R & B, Motown, Elvis.....and the Beach Boys....if it wasn't for Pet Sounds, there wouldn't be Sgt. Pepper, and the Stones learned from the knee of Muddy Waters & Howlin' Wolf......don't discount good old American rock & roll

Thanks Doc, I am just an American fan of these two Rock groups which I grew up on, the American band I really liked was the Doors.

Ok... as long as we're talking Beatles..... Anyone Remember the; "Paul Mcartney is dead" conspiricy? Him missing on the one cover photo... the license plate of a car that appeared on that cover (abbey road?) was supposedly the license of a car that was in a fatal collision.... The end of the song (Strawberry Fields?) where the drowned-out voice says either: "I'm very bored" Or.. "I buried Paul"

I don't know if any of it is true but that was the rumor....
