I just got a Fuente Anejo (shark) so looking forward to getting the time to smoke this one Had a 7-20-4, dog walker today, they are great for work because they are pretty quick smokes and I can smoke them and not take a long time out of work. Going to get a few more of the Sharks before they are gone. I think I am going to let a few of them age a little first

Matt,
I was gifted a Fuente Shark this past winter and have been saving it for a special occasion. Maybe our 25th anniversary in September when we open the Louie XIII we got as a wedding gift.

Sounds like a good occasion for a good smoke, which I have been told these are I think I might smoke one of them this weekend and then grab a few more and hold onto them and age them maybe a year or so. If I do light her up I will let you know my thoughts on them

Well, NOW I can report! After many business trips, I finally had the time to relax for a week, here is a small report:

Upon arrival, after two flights (and a very early wake up call) a nice Opus X was the perfect way to start the week. These babies never fail, draw and flavor is very consistent. Paired with Chivas 18.

The next day, after walking and eating like there was no tomorrow, I craved for a big smoke, so Partagas Serie D-4 was pefrect with coffee and 10 yr old Tawny port

Trip continued, with more great food and drinks; and somehow I managed to have a free afternoon! So it was reading time, my two passions: cigars and watches. How to spend a great afternoon? With a Cohiba Siglo VI, paired with, yes again, Chivas 18

On a different place, I stop by Davidoff and try one of their new short Colorados, paired with Chivas 12. Unfortunately, burn is uneven and flavor inconsistent. A very expensive 'test'

So I decide to forget 'trying' and after a big dinner, go with the smokes I had packed; this time a Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill. This is a powerhouse, draw and flavor are consistent and just a beautiful experience!!

Well, that is it for the time being. Enjoy!!!!

On this Memorial Day, I am smoking one and toasting our brave dead. Those that gave the last true measure of devotion!

When in Iraq in 2005, there was a young Airman killed by a wire guided rocket about 30 meters from my mod. Today I will think of him and his family.

That was the closest I have been to a battle claimed life. I will never forget it. I promise!

Today.... only the best!

Thank you to everyone who leaves reviews of the smokes they try here, it helps me pick them out. I have to agree on the Opus X they are a great smoke! Today I had a 7-20-4, "dogwalker" and a standard 7-20-4, in a few mins I am going to sit outside and enjoy a sam summer and have an Artuero Fuente chateau king. by the way Dan, Fuente "Shark" is one of the better smoke I have had!! you will enjoy it.

I will be heading to the IPCPR show in Las Vegas in July. It is where all the cigar companies and personalities will be, showing off what we'll all be smoking next year. I plan to create a thread for it and discuss all the free sample cigars from upcoming releases.

that would be great! thanks
Just spent a nice hour on my porch. It has cooled down and was nice to sit and have a drink and a smoke.
I do have to say the Artuero Fuente Chateau King was a decent smoke. I give it a 5-6 out of ten. The double chateau I had was a little nicer but it could be just that they are not consistent so I will have to have a couple more before I pass judgement totally.

The Fuente Chateau is one of my favorites. I have found them to be very consistent over time, but lately I have to say that the 6 or 8 I have enjoyed were different from each other enough to be concerned.

I don't know if it is quality control, or just something going on with their tobaccos.

Interesting I have to say that the 8-5-8 is one of my go-to smokes so far very consistent, lets hope this does not carry through to the whole line of fuente.

There are always variables when dealing with natural products. Having said that, one of the reasons to buy a quality name like Fuente is consistency.

I usually go w/ the 8-5-8 Maduro but recently tried my first 8-5-8 Natural that was a great smoke. Gonna try another this weekend...........just to make sure.

I like the natural, and the double chateau. Like you said one of the reasons I go to Fuente is the consistency. They make a good daily smoker, they burn a little hot and fast but I am okay with that.
Just got a few Padron 1926 in a couple different sizes, think I may hold onto them for a bit before I smoke them.

My large shipment just came in. The El Triunfador Limited Edition Lancero. I bought what was left of a 100ct box (75). Took these yesterday.

Last cigar I had was a Paul Garmirian that had been rolled in 1999. Unreal how good it was.

Smoked a Bolivar over at my buddy's house last night (thanks again for the cigar man). He is also a forum member (CAA). We have been friends since we were 15.

From his cigar stash. The Monte is real - he had already taken the label off and couldn't get it back on for the photo without damaging the wrapper so it's oddly positioned, but it's real.

Well, I just had to be sure about the Fuente consistency. Therefore I smoked two 8-5-8s and a Chateau this evening with a friend.

All three were just superb! No quality control issues whatsoever.

Must have been a batch problem......
